As someone who’s never been a wine drinker, I had a great time tasting the wines Keith had made and listening to the details of how each is made! You can definitely tell he’s very knowledgeable and loves the craft! He did a great job of selecting wines that would go with the overall group taste, had great portion sizes, and was overall friendly and welcoming. Overall we tried 7 of the wines and there’s not a one I wouldn’t drink again! We ended up splitting a bottle of Rurban Red between our group after our tasting along with some Smoked Cheddar cheese, and I grabbed a bottle of the Finale to take home, which is definitely the best white wine I’ve ever tried! I’ll definitely be returning for another bottle!
Keith does such an amazing job with his wine and gives a great tasting experience!
Visited today with my husband while we were in town for a family wedding. I was raised in Canal Winchester but my husband is from England so I live there now. We did a little trip to the Slate Run parks and farm house as my family used to go every summer on school vacations. We've just gotten into wines and I remembered passing this place in the past so thought we'd check it out while we're here. We were greeted by the owner, Keith, who showed us a menu selection with their various wines followed by a tasting. Keith shows a great passion and knowledge about the wine making process which shows in the delicious selection of wines he offers (and at a reasonable price). We ended up buying a couple bottles to take back home, the Winsome and Rurban Red. It felt good coming away with something locally and lovingly crafted. What a great memory and products to take back with us.
So much to learn and see and its very family friendly. Bee hives, animals, and staff very helpful. Hope to visit again soon. Enjoyed smelling the apple orchard in bloom last year. 0
When tasked with a wine "tasting" I wanted to go small business and local. The owner was extremely accommodating with recommendations. Tha k you for your help!
The owner Keith was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very affordable wine.
The building the winery was in was dusty and dirty and needed some general improvements. The staff was nice but the overall atmosphere and the interaction made us uncomfortable and awkward. The wine itself ranged from bad to fine but nothing worth a return visit. I would not recommend this place. I will up the review to 2 stars because the owner was genuinely trying to be nice and helpful and the prices were reasonable.
Quaint little winery, wonderful tasting wines. Interesting chat with Keith the wine maker. I support the small company. The wine to go is very reasonable
Highly recommend! Owner/wine maker tells you about the wine as you are tasting, so helpful and interesting if you enjoy wine!
Keith was awesome with explaining the technical aspects of each wine and taking care of us on our first visit to Slate Run!

Very nice! Friendly owner and enjoyable experience!
Some of the best wine I've had. If you're looking for a fancy night out this is not the place for you. If you're looking for some exceptional home made wine you've found the right place. We tasted 5 wines and Keith told us in detail about each one. We ended up getting a bottle of everyone we tried because they were all so good. We live over 3 hours away so I'll probably be having his wine shipped to us in the future.
Very friendly! Small but would recommend trying out at least
Was at the Winery last August & am hoping to visit again this year
Good local wines. I am more of a dry red drinker but I liked the whites and the sweeter wines as well.
