R kitchen is top notch! Great atmosphere and the best home cooked food. Everything made from scratch. I recommend the meat leaf but literally everything is amazing. Thanks R Kitchen

We stopped in around 1pm on a Saturday and they weren't very busy. The host/bartender was super helpful walking us through the specials. We got two apps and two sandwiches. Everything was really delicious. The ahi tuna was perfectly seared and the lightly pickled cucumbers and onion complimented the fish very well. The pretzels were soft and buttery but the cheese dip was the real star. The pot roast sandwich was deliciously rich and beefy without making the bun unpleasantly soggy. I was suspicious about the extra sauce on the pot roast but it definitely worked. The chicken sandwich was delicious as well. Both sandwiches came with perfectly seasoned crispy chips which I think they must make in house. Unfortunately we were on the road so we didn't stick around for desert. Definitely check out their seasonal cocktails and rotating draughts as well.Vegetarian options: Most if not all salads are meatless unless requested.Kid-friendliness: Decent selection for the kids menu

Lovely lunch stop in downtown Chillicothe. Loved the fresh menu options. Also offered are items from two local bakeries plus produce, meats, and flowers from nearby farms.

We happened to walk by this restaurant and we didn't even know we were hungry. Stopped in to get an appetizer and a drink and ended up ordering an entire meal. Liked the wine selections, the food selection and the staff were friendly. Clean kitchen and bathrooms (open concept)

R Kitchen has some of the best food in Chillicothe! It's one of the pricier restaurants in Chillicothe, but you'll understand why when you taste the food. Beautifully curated dishes by wonderful chefs! I've had burgers and salmon here and both are wonderful.

Great atmosphere, excellent food and good service. What more can you ask for? My wife and I wanted to try a new restaurant we had not previously been to and the R Kitchen did not disappoint. So many good things on the menu it was tough to make a decision. We are planning to go back next time we’re in Chillicothe.

Like many others I left Chillicothe after graduating high school. I happened to be in town a couple of months ago and was looking for something to eat for dinner. I drove around Paint Street and saw this place, which seemed liked it would be nicer than the chain restaurants around town. I was totally blown away. There was never anything like this when I grew up there. The food was fantastic. (I had the Ross County "caviar," NY strip steak, mashed potatoes, more corn, and "pumpkin creme brûlée.") A charming venue with a beautiful wood bar, stamped tin ceiling and brick walls that evoke a sense of the old small town. Full of locals who obviously love the food and the sense of community. I googled and saw how the owner is a trained chef who came back to his beloved hometown. They honor the local cuisine with creative yet simple dishes that let the true flavors reign (did I mention the corn?) Well done. Definitely will be back next time I'm in town.

I've been to this restaurant 2+ times now and I have to say it has been great every time! The ambience and decor are very nice. It's pretty lively during the height of the dinner hour, so be prepared for some noise, but we usually find it very pleasant. The food has always been good and exceeded my expectations. The menu is small but I have liked everything I have tried (fish and chips, burger, chicken and waffles). One time we invited friends along for dinner and they also really liked it! It's one of the nicer places to eat in Chillicothe and if you haven't been there, it's worth a try.

This restaurant was recommended to us by some long-time Chillicothe natives, so on a recent visit we tried it. The menu had lots of interesting dishes (we'll be back to try some of them) but we both opted for the daily special; a perfectly grilled NY strip dripping with blue cheese butter, served with mashed potatoes and corn. This presentation was worthy of a much pricier steak house; both the steak and the mashed potatoes were exceptional. We tried the classic iceberg wedge; it was complicated by a vinaigrette that overwhelmed the traditional blue cheese dressing, but was still quite good. Service was very attentive, and wine by the glass was a very good Cabernet. All in all, a meal we might expect in a fine dining restaurant, but the atmosphere was casual. The only improvement we could suggest would be at least one pepper mill in house; powdered black pepper doesn't cut it for us fresh cracked pepper addicts...

Great food! Short menu and delicious food. We had the fish and chips and it was crispy and perfect. They also had meatloaf, linguine bolognesse, chicken breast, a strip steak, a few other options, salads. Large portions.

On the recommendation of an acquaintance, we tried R Kitchen last night. So glad we did! Quaint surroundings, very friendly wait-staff, interesting menu, good food! I broke my own rule about not eating seafood anywhere but at the ocean and ordered the small plate crab cakes. Delicious, as was the house salad to go with it. While we don't live locally, I would go there again when we are in the area. We were advised to have a reservation, and this is probably the smart thing b/c it's not a large place.

What a total disappointment! We arrived at 7:30pm to have dinner and we were turned away. The lady told us (2) they are no longer seating people! You know if you won't seat people after a certain time then make that your close time. We came all the way down from Michigan and passed thousands of places to eat with plans to eat here. Had we known this was your policy we would've made other arrangements.
