Friendly staff and excellent food!! I've had the fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, the yams and the banana pudding and alllllll of it is good!!! Will be one of my go to's when I need my soul food fix!!!!

My husband & I live on the west side & were looking for someplace different to eat. I've had this place on my list for a few years now.
Just WOW!!! We were given friendly greetings by everyone as we entered. This restaurant is family owned & operated and you can tell. It is a small place with an attached bar but comfortable seating to dine in.
Very attentive service and we had great conversation with the owner who brought us samples of her cabbage and also of the banana pudding. EXCELLENT. She gave us some history of this place, which has been on business well over 20 years. Emma is her deceased mother whom she named the place after. The friendliest family.
My husband got the pork chop which he loved. I got some greens (has turkey on it!) macaroni & cheese. We can't wait to come back and try the meatloaf and salmon croquette.

We ordered carryout, so I can't rate the atmosphere. However, this is one of the few places in Cincinnati I will return. The price point is a little high, but not unreasonable, in my opinion. This was some of the best tasting and perfectly spiced foods I've had since coming here. We will return, and I will order the meatloaf. Chicken was perfect, but I tried my husband's meatloaf and it was to die for!

We just came from eating here and I give it an 1000/10! The food was so good, the atmosphere was amazing and family oriented, which I love, and the service was 10/10. My kids are picky eaters and they ate every last bit of their food! Highly recommend and will be back!

I've been here, this would make my 3rd time. Food is good. My only complaint would be the amount of food you get for the money. 1 porkchop with 2 small sides, and I do mean small, for 16$, is diabolical. The porkchop wasn't even big. The 1st time I went, portions was on point. But the last couple of times ?? Not so much. The gentleman working there are always kool along with the service. Like i said, my only complaint is what your getting for your money.

Ok I always give a place at least 2 times before a review,the food is decent, really, really over priced,6 dollars for a small side of canned yams with a lot of sugar,the greens almost meat less,but not canned,the macaroni and cheese better than some, The ribs taste boiled but tender,the fish ok but could use more spice,the meat loaf ehhh,hardly if any green pepper,onion,bland,and when you buy a meal that comes with two sides expect a couple spoon fulls of those sides,we spent 60 bucks on 3 meals and ehhh,the environment ehhh,the atmosphere ehhh,and this is take out we'd not even consider eating in,in all I wish we'd have come ate when Emma was there I'd expect things would have been different,the gentleman inside were nice,and polite,but I think will give it a while before we return

Yesss today was my first time here, and definitely won’t be my last time. Everything I ordered was good. Can’t wait to go and try other food. On top of that the service was great, and the owner sooo very very nice and welcoming. We even got a sample piece of sweet potato pie. If you haven’t been here please go. You will not be disappointed.
