I stopped by for the first time to work on my computer, and it was a great experience! The coffee was nice, and I really enjoyed the vegan lemon loaf. I will definitely be back to try the other vegan pastries while getting some work done! Nice atmosphere and good wifi. I did have to pay for parking out front (I am unsure if there is free parking nearby, as I am new to the area).

**Review for Awakening Coffee Shop, Hyde Park**
I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at Awakening Coffee Shop prompted me to share. I visited the shop alone with my certified dog, as I was out for a walk in Hyde Park. My dog is trained, obeys commands, and is certified—though not a service dog. I made that clear to the barista, who responded that if my dog wasn’t a service dog, I would need to leave.
I understand the importance of accommodating customers and respecting policies, but I felt publicly humiliated and unfairly judged simply for being honest. I don’t believe in emotional support or certification as a reason to bypass the rules, but I also believe that responsible pet owners who have invested in their animals’ training deserve respect.
I chose not to educate the staff at the moment because the shop was busy and I didn’t want to cause a scene, but I hope this feedback reaches the management. If a customer is honest about their situation, they should be treated with courtesy, especially if they’re paying for their order.
To the staff: Please be aware of how to handle these situations professionally and kindly. Customers who spend their money deserve respectful treatment, regardless of the certification status of their pets.
**Additionally, I will not be returning.** I plan to continue getting my coffee at Roebling Cafe in Newport. Heads up: although they do not allow dogs inside their shop, they have a clever system for pet owners—a metal hook that hangs from the outside wall for leash attachment, with a water bowl nearby while owners go inside to order. That’s a smart solution, and it might be worth considering for Awakening Coffee Shop as well.
Thank you.

Pretty decent cup of coffee. Good espresso pour. Nice bean blend. Offers a ton of wine options and very cozy.

This is my all time favorite coffee shop in Cincinnati and NKY. Their toddy cooler is my all time favorite especially paired with a spinach and feta croissant!
The pumpkin coffee cake was great. Always a good selection of wine and the coffee stands it's own against other hyde park options. We couldn't find seats, but hey, that's how popular this place is. Five stars!

Love this place, come in for coffee on Sundays often. Great experience, usually quick. Can get stuffed in here, as does every coffee shop. Always recommend to folks in town! Hot latte with SF Vanilla is the best.

They are unable to sell gift cards online or via phone due to the “new system update” and didn’t even try to help me. Poor customer service!

Love this place. The Toddy Cooler with caramel will NEVER get old. The perfect place to meet friends, get work done, or just hang out. Katie is amazing and the rest of the staff is always friendly! Also their blueberry coffee grounds are delicious!

This is a great, spacious place, that seems pretty popular in the mornings. There's WiFi, outlets, and a little bit of outdoor seating, too. It's not a bad place to plug in if you don't mind some background noise. Drink-wise, I'm a pretty simple guy, and I go for plain lattes. They're strong and very high-quality espresso, which tells me that their drinks are good across the board if the core is that good. They have a decent-looking pastry case with bagels/breads/muffins, etc. from local businesses.. oh, and they're pretty much a full-blown wine shop too! Plenty to like about this place!

Super good hot chai! Also the big cake pop was yummy! Reasonable prices. They fit a lot of seating into a smaller space inside but also have some outdoor tables. Food people ordered came out fast. Would recommend a drink to walk around the farmers market with!
Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free items and vegan items in the bakery case
