Had Big Jay’s Jerk Plate with Mac and greens. Unbeatable! Best food I’ve had in Cincinnati and Jay was extremely kind. Got a bottle of pineapple jerk glaze on the way out. Will definitely be back!
Do NOT ORDER. Ordered 2 JERK bowls via uber eats. Sent chicken. We asked to remake it. The “CHEF” was a complete JERK who refused to exchange the order for their mistake!
This business won’t last long with this type of attitude.

I’m always late to the party. Ran across this restaurant on line looking for something completely different. Seen it’s around the corner from me. Never paid attention to this establishment. I got the chicken Rasta pasta and my goodness it’s delicious. 1st bite and I was completely blown away. A little spicy but it didn’t last long. I will definitely be back and referring my friends and family. Hidden 💎. Pound cake was just how I like it too 👍

We picked Big Jay’s on a whim but hot damn was that a good choice! The dining room
is small with only a few tables which made for a chill dining experience and the atmosphere is perfect. The service was quick and easy, which was nice but the real star was the food. We split the soul food plate which was plenty for 2 people but would be excellent left over. The chicken was tender and perfectly complements the bed of rice it was on. The Mac and cheese and collard greens were probably the best I’ve ever had and I’m not new to soul food. Don’t sleep on Big Jay’s if you’re into Caribbean food!

I will recommend because the food was pretty good but I wasn’t 100% satisfied. Not a lot of food for $23(caribbean plate). And they kept my change(25 cents) because they were “low on change”.
It’s been a long time since I had some good take out. This place excited my expectations. I had Rasta pasta and the soul food plate 10/10 would 100 percent recommend. I can’t wait to try the oxtails.
I got the soul food plate. It came with A chicken leg quarter, rice, greens, and mac & cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious. The chicken was very tuff, no flavor, and skin was soggy. The rice was kind of dry and lacked flavor. The greens were so so. It cost $22.80 for that crappy food. If you want a side is almost $8.00. We asked for sauce for the chicken but it was extra. The place looked clean, but no restroom. to use. I would NEVER refer this place. I will never go back. I hope the chicken don't make me sick.

Took a while to catch them open, was finally excited to try the food. Imo it didn't measure up to my expectations. 1st they didn't have a few thing's we wanted. Then we had to settle for something that I didn't want, a Philly cheese sandwich was a bust. The bread wasn't toasted, toppings were minimal and no seasoning. So, I returned it bc we were dining in. Got the pasta in place of the sandwich, which also didn't meet my expectations. Also tried the famous sweet potato pound cake, which taste like spice cake from a box. My sister had a soul food plate, she wasn't impressed. It's a one and done for us. My mom was a great cook, which makes it hard for me to enjoy food prepared by other's.
