Food and drinks were great. Service was excellent.Great place to come for wonderful food and drinks plus awesome dessert. We enjoyed the atmosphere there and decor. The mixed drinks are to die for!
We can't recommend Brew River enough. My husband has been going to NOLA since the late 80's and we've gone together with friends & family at least once a year the last 12 years. This is hands down your in-town, real deal NOLA food cravings stop. Rachel took great care of us and Jeff can be a handful ;) Since it's Mardi Gras season chef is offering a tasting menu that we FULLY took advantage of. Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, Jambalaya, Pasta Monica w/crawfish & Chicory infused crème brûlée and Banana Fosters. We also ordered a bread service (Shout out 16 Bricks on that) because you need that crusty bread for that gumbo gravy. If you're missing Mardi Gras or just NOLA in general head on down! Great live music as well~ thanks to all the staff & hats off to the kitchen on some real flavors.
I had a great birthday celebration at BrewRiver (2nd year in a row!). I love the atmosphere (I'm from Louisiana) and vibe- it actually feels like a Louisiana restaurant. The food is really good and the service is always attentive. The Sunday of the celebration there was a small band which was really good. Overall, great experience and restuarant!
Another excellent meal here. We tried the gumbo poutine for the first time this visit and I really loved the storyville manhattans!
3rd time here in the last 9 months. one of Our favorite restaurants. Foor and service is excellent.
We had an absolutely delightful experience at Brew River. We sat in the bar area to hear the band and it was super fun. The food was outstanding - we had the pickled vegetables in an amazing brine, fried green tomatoes, and pimento cheese for starters. We then had the Shrimp and Grits and the Jambalaya. All were excellent and that's saying something given my husband (a former chef) prides himself on his cajun cooking abilities. Our server was wonderful too - all around, just a great vibe, food, and experience!
If you're a New Orleans native missing creole food, come here! Food was spot on. There was a New Orleans jazz band visiting when I ate there. The atmosphere is perfect and reflective of a French quarter Mardi Gras atmosphere. The owner is a nice lady and the sous chef did amazing!
We were glad we booked our extended family gathering at Brew River Creole last night for dinner and music. The food was great, and our server was very attentive, even with managing separate groups of orders/checks. The Cincinnati Krewe Brass Band was performing true New Orleans music and their drummer is Excellent!
The band and food were wonderful, and we appreciate how Nay always takes great care of us!
We've dined in before and had a great time but tonight ordered for takeout. The food was ready quickly, portions were really great sizes and as always, the food tasted amazing. I got the BBQ shrimp and grits and my husband got the etouffee and both were flavorful and wonderfully spiced. We absolutely will dine in and likely get take out here many more times in the future.

We had a wonderful meal and amazing service from beginning to end! Rachel was kind, thoughtful, helpful, friendly, engaging and delightful. She is an absolute treasure. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I highly recommend you request Rachel if you would like incredible service as well!
Excellent brunch! Wife had fried green tomato on a very fluffy biscuit. I had the gumbo along with chicken and waffles. It was all delicious. We will be back!
I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Brew River Creole Kitchen tonight with a friend, and I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was top-notch—every dish was bursting with authentic Creole flavor and cooked to perfection.
Our server, Rachel, was phenomenal. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. It’s rare to find service this genuinely caring and professional.
The atmosphere was equally wonderful—inviting, lively, and filled with the energy of people who clearly love what they do. It’s even more special knowing this amazing place is owned by a friend; you can truly feel the passion and pride behind every detail.
We enjoyed every single minute of our time here. If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers incredible food, impeccable service, and a vibrant, heartfelt experience, Brew River Creole Kitchen is the place to go!
Can’t wait to come back soon!

Overall, good food but nothing special about the place.
Pros:
- the étouffée was flavorful, although the rice was not fresh.
- shrimp po boy was very good, sauce was great.
Cons:
- the fried oysters were not good at all. They were very oily and had a weird off flavor.
- the menu could use more diverse options instead of all deep fried dishes.
- the decor needs some serious work. Everything was a bit off with no cohesion and all very generic generally. For example the lighting, the chairs, the wall decorations, the dish-ware, and the bathroom setup.
I probably won’t go here again as nothing in particular draws me back. I appreciate this place as a local restaurant so I’m giving it four stars, but it could be an awesome local spot if some changes were made. I wouldn’t recommend to a friend right now.
