Cincy Crab (Springdale, OH)

My experience at Cincy Crab was extremely negative, and I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. The food was poorly prepared, items were missing from my order, and the staff did not make any effort to address the issue or provide customer-friendly service.

The restaurant had an unpleasant smell upon entry, appeared dirty and outdated, and did not feel sanitary—especially for a business serving shellfish and other foods that can carry bacteria if not handled properly. I also noticed what appeared to be a bug near the entrance, which raised even more concerns about cleanliness and food safety.

The manager/franchise owner—who oversees both the Cincinnati location and the Buttermilk, Kentucky location—was extremely unprofessional in his communication. His behavior toward me felt disrespectful and dismissive, and did not reflect the basic standards of customer service or leadership. Based on this interaction, I believe management would benefit from serious training in professionalism and communication.

The overall atmosphere did not feel welcoming, and the way I was treated left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable. Because of this, I personally do not feel comfortable supporting this business.

At this point, I will not be returning to either location, and the only time I could imagine stepping back into this establishment is if it were to observe meaningful changes or improvements in the future.

Until major improvements are made in cleanliness, customer service, professionalism, and management, I cannot recommend this business to anyone.
This business will Not thrive ! Handle them ancestors! Don’t waste your money !

Made reservations for 15 for my husband bday, arrived on time and they had given our seat to another group so we had to split up our family. Drove over an hour for this restaurant. Wouldn’t honor my husbands bday coupon because it was the day after his bday. Instead they brought him out a “pink” keychain… Service was poor and the food was poor as well. This place is not friendly and the atmosphere was poor, customer service POOR! Would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone! But they sure didn’t miss applying a tip for us!

This was my first time patronizing the establishment and when I walked in the atmosphere seemed pretty inviting other than the woman who continuously belched loud and long like an abnormally big man. Then the woman brought out my seafood boil fist gripping the top of my bag. I was still going to eat my boil until I tasted the flavorless miniscule meal. I left it right there and went to Crafty Crab where my meal is always presented properly and pleasantly. I willllllll NOT be back

Lunch was delicious! Have been craving crab legs lately and this was the perfect place to stop. Hush puppies were so good you couldn't stop eating them! Homemade tartar sauce was the best I've had. Whiting was okay. The calamari was hand breaded with a very light breading that was delicious. Messy, but super fun meal. Waitress was super sweet.

The shrimp po'boy was excellent and the Cajun French fries were perfect straight from the frier. It's a casual wear your stretchy pants kind of place that gives you a bib and gloves.

If you like to have buckets of oil and no seasoning enjoy this place. I was completely overcharged. I ordered 1lb of crab in my bag and got charged for 2. I ate my food and when the bill came out noticed it and the manager said she needs to take it back even tho that was a server mistake, but still said she has to charge me for half of the lb. I gave it back but charging me for something I didn’t even order to begin with? Crazy to me (not sure what they planned on doing with the crab claw I gave back…) Honestly the customer service just isn’t good and the food is very mediocre and overpriced.

Aug 2025: Ordered takeout, Combo 3 with additional lobster and sausage. I was surprised to see you can't order online to pickup later since they put your meal together with fresh food upon arrival, only took about 8 minutes. Brought the food home and it was a bit of heaven. Everything was done perfectly, more than adequate selection. Wendy helped us with the order, she couldn't have been nicer. Will go back, highly recommend.

This place is always very tasty, unfortunately it’s also very expensive. For a family of five to eat there you’re gonna spend about $200 but again it’s really tasty which makes it worth it if you’re a foodie
