CityBird Tenders Anderson

I usually buy my tenders at Cane's across the street from City Bird but I thought I'd give him a try. When I got in line in the drive-thru they were two cars ahead of me. 20 minutes later I finally got my food. It was mediocre at best. The tenders were microscopic and the fries were cold. I will not be going back.

City Bird has THE best and only authentic tenders in town. These are still the real deal, tenderloins, the rare and precious piece out of the center of a chicken breast. Other places cut strips from very large tougher chicken breasts and call them "tenders," but they aren't really tenders! City Bird starts with these perfect fresh cuts, brines and spices, dredges and fries, and serves them with your choice of sauces. There's a sauce to suit every taste, but these tenders are perfection unsauced, just enough seasoning to enhance their flavor. The fries are a masterpiece, with parmesan and parsley, good enough that others try to replicate them. We also enjoy the slaw, dominantly purple cabbage, with green cabbage and carrot in a light sauce with celery seed. We have eaten here dozens of times and have never had a bad bite. They could teach a Master Class in Chicken Tender preparation. Each time we eat here, we still look forward to returning for this delicious City Bird again.

Tenders are great and fries are some of the best in the game. However I got a large pack tonight and I swear the fries must have been 6-10 hours old. I don’t think it would even be safe to eat food left out that long. I could have left a fresh order out for 5 hours and still be better off than with what this employee tonight was handing out tonight. Really nasty stuff. Check your order before you leave.

Simply asked for ranch slaw to be put on the chicken blue sandwich and was refused. Was told I could get it on the side and do it myself. Canceled the drive-thru order. Went someplace else. Rude.

This is the second time I have had a horrible experience at this location when there no one else there. I sit and wait in the drive thru forever for someone to come on the speaker. Today I waited in the drive thru for almost 20 minutes… I paid and was waiting forever on food. The lady never came to tell me they were running behind or anything. There was one customer in their “lobby” sitting and waiting. She comes back and says “$23.99” and I’m like.. I already paid.. I still haven’t gotten my food. She walked away. No “sorry” nothing. Gave me my food and told me to have a good day. It’s ridiculous how unorganized they are there. I’m never one to complain on anything. But being 15 minutes late to work after my break was enough to put me over the edge. I work 5 minutes away. And had a 40 minute break if that tells you anything.

Ordered 6 Tenders for $10.14 and they made popcorn chicken from Kroger look big. It looked like the leftovers at the bottom of a finished Meal. Nice people though. #losingbeechmontchickenwars
