The server was phenomenal and did everything she could to make up for the terrible food. It was restaurant week, so we decided to do the special which was a New York strip with salad and two sides for $59. One of the two steaks was so tough we could not even cut it, the other was ordered, medium, plus and came out blood red. Server got the manager who took the steaks off our bill and offered a fillet as a replacement. The fillet came out blood red as well and also was tough. When asked by the manager about the new steak, we pretty much told him it was not any better. We were charged for the fillet. I feel like they just pulled whatever they had leftover in the freezer out to get rid of for the restaurant week. However, the last several times we've been to Council Oak, it has been extremely disappointing. The waitress was awesome, she tried everything she could to make the experience good even with the poor quality of food. While we get numerous things free at the casino, I do not know that I will be back to Council Oaks for a long time if the quality of food does not get better.
Service was extremely poor. Waited at table for 30 minutes until we told the assistant we had not been helped and he went to notify our waiter. The delay was not acknowledged. Our food came after neighboring tables received theirs. Ambience was marred by the view of the jail.
We had a reservation and was seated immediately upon arrival. This is a beautiful restaurant and our booth was comfortable. We had the oysters rock. And was not disappointed. Also, had the chopped salad and it was delicious. Rolls were served. Our main course was the filet. Perfectly cooked. My sister and I split everything and had more than enough to fill up. We took home a huge slice of chocolate cake. Very decadent!!
Karla was our server and she was prompt, informative and provided superb service. Food was cooked perfect and served hot and tasted great. The whole experience was great.
Greg Gable was such an excellent server and we had a blast talking with him throughout the night. All of the food was amazing and timed perfectly. Thank you for a great date night!
The food was absolutely incredible, service was phenomenal and we were very pleased. Only complaint was we were excited to try the calamari and they were out of it.
This is one of our favorites places to eat, however the fillet was close to well done when I ordered it medium. (Normally they do this perfect!) Also normally the seasoning that used is amazing making it one of our favorite steak places. However Saturday it didn't taste like it had any seasoning at all. I didn't even eat half of it. The Johnny Bench special- sounded great but was lack luster as well. Hope things get back to normal!
The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was great, from the hostess, to the server and the people assisting with refilling waters and clearing plates. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
Hands down my favorite steakhouse in all of Cincinnati. Their open flame cooking is amazing!
Brussels sprouts had nothing but leaves manager took them off my bill Very nice The other food was good

The service is outstanding. The bar is a lively, fun place that is enjoyable every time we are there. Every bartender and bartendress is knowledgeable, friendly and personally pleasant. Hats off to Flora, Katie, Travis and Danialle.
Best steaks in downtown Cincinnati under management of Josh Treadway. You won't be disappointed!
Food was outstanding. Table for four we had: filet, whipped potatoes, cowboy t-bone, short ribs, French onion soup, lobster bisque and the Johnny Bench dessert. All of it was perfect. Ludo our server was also very attentive and the manager stopped to make sure our dinner was as we expected. It was a great evening and I highly recommend.
My friend and I sat in the new “outdoor” area before a show. Everything was good and the server was friendly. I think the prices are a bit much since the main entrees don't usually include sides or salad. The sides are shareable. We were in a rush to get the check for the show timing so the manger helped out to get it more quickly, which was nice.
Service and food were excellent. Our server was very personable and checked on us occasionally. We ordered a couple of items to go and they were brought to our table in a timely manner. We ordered salmon and mashed potatoes on the side as well as dessert. Everything was very nicely prepared and presented. The food was delicious. We will be back.
