A thousand times better than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. While the portions are a little smaller than what you would get at China Wok or Fantastic Wok, the ingredients are clearly fresher and of better quality. Their food is made with love.

I will never order from Fortune Express again. I spent almost $40 on food that was absolutely disgusting. The “fried rice” wasn’t even close — it was half-cooked, bland, and clearly not fried rice at all. Everything tasted old and poorly prepared.

To make things worse, the service was horrible — rude attitude, no apology, and no effort to fix the problem. It’s sad because I was really looking forward to a good meal, but this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Mt. Healthy.

Save your money and go anywhere else — you’ll thank yourself later!

I ordered shrimp fried rice and crab ragoons on a takeout order. The rice was ok, the ragoons were oily on the bottom so I couldn't really enjoy them. The indoor dining room is nice, clean, and cozy. The price was reasonable.

Not what I'm used to from here. Maybe 6 cashews with the cashew chicken. Plenty of celery though

Very bland food. Not a good value.
I will not return; I’ll go back to China Wok on Winton Rd.

Fortune Express - A Hidden Gem with A+ Service and Incredible Food

If you’re looking for amazing Chinese food in Cincinnati with outstanding service, Fortune Express is the place to go!

Ming (the mom) and Vivian (the daughter) are truly one of the best duos you’ll ever meet. Their warmth and kindness made my visit unforgettable. From the moment I walked in, their bright smiles set the tone — friendly, welcoming, and genuine.

I was ordering for five people, and let me tell you, some of those orders came with complicated food restrictions. Despite all the questions I had (and multiple phone calls back and forth with the group), Ming and Vivian were incredibly patient. They answered every question and happily made adjustments to spice levels and substitutions. Not once did I feel rushed — instead, they treated me like I was their top priority the entire time.

The prices were exactly what I’d expect for such quality, but the food? Absolutely top-notch. Everything was freshly made, packed with flavor, and came out fast — even with our large order. Watching them cook up a storm in record time was honestly impressive.

The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and inviting, with plenty of seating available. Even though I was ordering takeout, I appreciated the calm vibe while I waited. And as if their kindness wasn’t already clear, Vivian personally brought my order to me with yet another warm smile.

As I left, I couldn’t help but smile back, waving to both Ming and Vivian as they sent me off with cheerful goodbye and waves.

Fortune Express isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where you feel cared for, from the food to the service. Without a doubt, this will be my go-to spot whenever I’m visiting family in Cincinnati. Highly recommend!

I live very close so I get their weekday lunch specials often. Good selection, comes with white or fried rice plus a soup (egg drop or hot and sour) for $7 or $8, can't beat it!

I ordered the General Tso meal. The chicken was all dark meat and gristly. Marked as spice but it wasn't. Fried rice was flavorless. Hot & Sour soup delicious. Server was wonderful! Husband didn't even eat his rice or most of his Sesame Chicken. Very disappointed.

Been coming here for years! This humble restaurant has really wonderful, consistently delicious Chinese/Cantonese food, good service...always. Check out their menu: shrimp, scallops, pork, chicken, beef, chicken... in lunches or dinners, depending on time of day. Egg rolls are delicious! Would advise to check their hours before going. Children love watching the fish in their aquarium tank.
