This was my first visit, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I came in at lunch with only one other table finishing up. The flatbread tasted like frozen food microwaved, and $15 for a burger with some store bought chips felt excessive. The crispy chicken sandwich was inedible, and the burrata bruschetta was so hard it couldn’t be eaten. I mentioned the issues to the server, but should have asked for a refund but didn’t want to cause trouble for the polite server. Safe to say, I won’t be returning to Gaslight Bar & Grill.

Restaurants and bars like this are ESSENTIAL to the function of a local economy. Locally owned and operated, they've been in operation longer than I've been alive and consistently knocking it out of the park. Food specials every day of the week. They have a shockingly good fish & chips, which is saying a lot because I've had a lot of really good fish & chips

Me, my husband and two good friends had dinner there March 22 before a Ludlow Garage concert. We’ve all decided we won’t be returning. We were so disappointed to learn several dishes we enjoyed from past visits were no longer on the menu. We opted for the Chicago hamburger. The fries were lukewarm warm but after alerting the waitress we got hot fries. To also add insult, we felt like we were eating a Burger King hamburger. So disappointing after having great meals from past dine in visits.

We have lived in the Gaslight and have been regulars at the bar and grill for 6 years.
We support it because we are thankful it is a part of our community and it has always been consistently good.
The last two times we have been - it has been so disappointing.
Last time I ordered the lobster pot pie, and it was puff pastry with very hot internal mush and no lobste or solid root vegetables.
Tonight, my husband and I both got burgers ( always a solid favorite there ). It was different from the old burger, now it is two smash burger patties.
Our burgers were so oily that it was gushing onto the plate, and the buns were saturated. I assure you, I’m not being dramatic.
While our fries, which are also different, were undercooked and still cold on the inside.
I am hoping management reads this and hears us in saying that what ever changes have taken place, perhaps need some more fine tuning.
I am also alarmed that all of the staff who were there for YEARS, all left at the same time…

We used to go here all the time and order their burgers and fries with truffle oil/duck fat but I believe they changed management/owners?

Their fries used to be crunchy, flavorful, amazing but now it is a sad, soggy mess when you order takeout :(

We visited the Gaslight Bar & Grill for Valentines Day dinner and so glad we chose to dine with them. Specials were created for the occasion to include libations, and their dinner menu was available to order from as well. My husband had the Ludlow Wellington, and I had the dinner special. Both dishes were so tasty and cooked to perfection! The Birth of Venus cocktail special was simply divine! The shortcake for dessert was the icing on our Valentines dinner at this neighbor gem!

Stuffy place. The waiter/bartender was hilarious. He was very personable, he checked on us often but not annoyingly, his drinks were great. The initial waitress/hostess... Eh. I'm pretty sure we were the wrong color. The atmosphere was quiet. The menu has items that are beyond my limited palate. I ordered the burger well done. Yeah, pink throughout. Drinks were ok. A patron actually stopped at our table to comment on someone's hair color. It was complimentary, however it's still rude. I thought she was going to touch it. PSA***** DON'T TOUCH A STRANGER'S HAIR!
THAT'S INVASIVE!
ALSO, DON'T STOP TO TALK TO STRANGERS WHILE THEY'RE EATING!
THAT'S RUDE AND UNSAFE!
I take my mask off to eat. Having a stranger in your face speaking to you defeats the purpose. Their parking is in the back. You have to climb steps to get to the front door. It's not for me, but you might like it.

Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't bring my kids here, but then again... My kids are heathens.

Wow. I had no idea that this place was so amazing. We decided to try it after visiting the Zoo Festival of Lights. This could be some of the tastiest food I’ve had in Clifton, and possibly Cincinnati.

I had a lobster pot pie which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor — topped with buttery puff pastry. It was both incredibly satisfying and filling.

My husband had the Hangar Steak — which was prepared perfectly. With mushrooms and delicious charred onions. It is definitely the dish that will make us return.

The service was on point, and both professional and welcoming — it also felt genuine, as if the staff was happy you were there visiting.

One more thing, don’t miss the trio of desserts. Unbelievable.

If you are in the area, stop by for dinner — you will not be disappointed!

The risotto looked and tasted like cottage cheese and the lobster pot pie was inedible. I’m usually the kind of person that will eat anything, but this is perhaps the worst meal I’ve had at a restaurant. And although the service and dining experience were fine, they were just overshadowed by the disappointing meal. At least the cocktails were good :/

Enjoyed the Seared Scallops. Dining Companion loved the “Chicago-Style” Burger. We shared a bottle of Jezebel Pinot Noir. Nice wine & bourbon selections. Likely go back for a date dinner or glasses of wine at bar.

This place has gone DOWNHILL recently. We have eaten here before and been happy. My wife and I had dinner Saturday 12/7/2024 before a show at Ludlow Garage. The menu was surprising different than on their website? And very few dinner type items. Disappointing. My wife had the Squash Risotto. It was bland with no flavor, runny and maybe 8 pencil eraser size pieces of squash. I had the pork chops with an "s" for $32. The meal came out as ONE chop, dry and no flavor. Asked for a bottle of wine. It took about 10 minutes and the server brought it out and just sat it on the table and left. It was still corked! Then the manager came out and opened the wine at the table and asked how our meal was. We didn't want to make a fuss and said it was "just OK." She didn't offer or say anything. We later saw her across the street taking ticket to get into the show. We will still visit the Ludlow Garage for wonderful music but we will now go to other local restaurants for dinner. As my wife said "Dinner just plain sucked."

Food was okay, but they randomly substituted items on our dishes without informing us. I ordered the meatloaf meal and without telling me, they substituted the mashed potatoes for fried potatoes and the green beans for sautéed veggies. For someone else at our table, they substituted a VEGETARIAN portobello mushroom burger for a BEEF patty... we were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant during lunch.
