They are rude to customer off color. I used to come here all the time get a table to study and I spent money and tipped. To my own fault I’ve seen that they were rude to other customers that look like me and I ignored it so I apologize to you over there and I didn’t say anything but kept giving them business. Secondly, I want to say when I used to come here all the time I will spend money, and I will also leave a decent tip And at first I didn’t have any issues with them. One day, and I mean only one day I came with a group of friends, who all paid and bought something except for me I only wanted water with lemon. When I was passing, but I was a little short on cash. I was with three other students/friends who bought something one even bought food, and he the waiter clearly had an attitude because I wasn’t buying anything. I never came back, but yet I did graduate nursing school.

The customer service was horrible, the man running the place had a terrible attitude, which made the entire experience awful. I’ve been here several times and received the same treatment from various workers here. Customer service does not exist. It ruined my experience.

The waiter was really rude to my friend and they rushed us out of the place. I came with two other people and one of my friends didn’t want anything and the waiter made him get something. I thought this was silly as both me and my other friend ordered drinks. The actual drinks were decent but nothing to write home about. Same with the atmosphere. Wouldn’t come back because of the rude staff. After a few hours they told us we needed to buy more or leave.

This place has been serving really great coffee drinks since the beginning of the Holocene which is also about when Jay started working here. Here's some advice...If a long-haired, tatty-hoking son of a biscuit is rude to you then it's because you were being a cheap dingus, so stop that. Actually that goes for anybody who works there, if they're mean to you just say you're sorry and you'll figure out why later. Also, get the sandwich with cream cheese, pickles, and jam if they still have it. I'm not kidding.

One other person and I went at 8:30pm to study. We have things to do that require table space - she has to get out her textbook, computer, and iPad to take notes and I have to get out my computer, iPad, and paper to write an equation sheet. Staff won’t let us take up more than one (very very small) two person table without paying a “study fee”, which is either a drink worth $6 every hour or flat hour $6 an hour. The logic was there had been no open tables all night, but we walked past four open on the way out. The food and drinks are fabulous and I love this place, I was so sad to have to leave for this reason

Absolutely love this late-night spot! Great selection of beer (plus ice cold glasses), very cool atmosphere, and the boozy milkshakes are awesome! It can get crowded so I'm glad they encourage a purchase minimum otherwise there would be no seats available. This place is like a mix of a bar and a cool coffee shop, but if you're looking for a place to hang out/study for long periods of time and not buy anything, I'd suggest you visit your local library.

I had never been to this cafe, and was a bit anxious to try a new place on my own but I had heard good things so figured it was worth a shot! Needless to say, I will never be back. I have never been so spoken down to by a server in my entire life. I’m used to going to other coffee shops around campus, where you sit down to get some work done and maybe order a coffee or a bagel. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect from this place, I have just driven by it a lot and knew it was cute and that they were open late which was perfect. I sat down towards the back of the cafe, and passed plenty of open tables. I settled in, and eventually the barista/bartender approached me and asked me what I wanted, which surprised me because I assumed if I were to get anything, I would order at the bar. I told him I had never been there before and wasn’t familiar with the menu. He told me I could grab a menu at the front and that he would come back. I grabbed a menu, and was not thrilled by the prices or options. The prices aren’t *awful* per say, but they’re definitely on the pricier side for a cafe around here. I wasn’t very hungry and didn’t want caffeine or a cocktail, but felt bad not ordering anything so I figured the french bread would be a good middle ground. When he came back and asked what I wanted, I told him the french bread and he snarkily replied, “That’s all???” I said yes. He then, very obviously annoyed, told me that if i wanted to stay for awhile that I needed to order more than that. I was surprised by this so I said “Really?” I was not being rude, I was genuinely curious. I had never heard of a cafe doing that. He then, VERY aggressively said, “It’s late and we’re at our peak in here so if you want to stay you need to order more. This isn’t study hall, it’s a BUSINESS.” To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I literally laughed, I was so stunned by his brashness. So I did exactly what he told me to do: I packed my things and I left. I used to be a server. I understand how much the job sucks and how exhausting it is. NEVER in all my years of customer service have I EVER spoken to a customer like that. Had he simply NICELY explained to me that they were busy so it’s policy to order more, I would have. Instead, an older greasy man felt the need to go on some sort of power trip to speak down to a young woman, someone he clearly thinks is an idiot based off his tone and the way he spoke to me. And based off all the other reviews, this is not a lone incident. It sounds like this lonely pathetic man who feels the need to go on ego trips every two seconds either needs to find a new profession or get a hobby because clearly he is miserable and wants to make everyone around him miserable as well. As a server, you get such little amount of time with your customers. It is YOUR job to make them feel comfortable and welcome. You have no idea what anyone is going through. This barista had no idea that for me, it was a huge feat that I went to a cafe on my own that I’m not familiar with without having a panic attack. You don’t know anyone or their life. So what does it hurt to just be NICE??? Not to mention, his whole reason for saying I had to order more is because they were busy. As stated earlier, when I walked in I passed SEVERAL open tables. I go to Rhos cafe frequently and constantly there is nowhere to sit (and they don’t harass you for not ordering food). This cafe was not busy. It’s clear this man just wants to harass customers to make himself feel good. The funniest part? I was planning on tipping more than 20% since I was ordering so little. Hopefully this man will get a new profession or maybe get into therapy or something so he stops acting like a little piss baby brat any time a customer even remotely says or does anything he doesn’t like. I won’t be back ever again, but if anyone reading this goes back for some reason, I’m asking you to please humble this man because he desperately needs it. Acting like that at your grown age is disgusting. Grow up!

I came in last night and tipped $10 because I understand how hard it is to work here. Today I decided not to tip, and the bartender decided to comment on how I shouldn’t come if I am not gonna tip and he only makes $3 an hour.

I have NEVER been to a night time coffee shop, I guess because I’m uncultured. But my boyfriend and I were waiting for the Art Walk to start so we came here. The barista was absolutely phenomenal and so kind. The coffee and cookie were so fabulous that we would come back just for that. But you know what else I’d come back for, the piece of the pizza that earned this establishment the fifth star? The viiiiibes, dude. Seriously. The decor is gorgeous and homey; I could envision an author writing his Nobel peace prize winning novel here. The music, the smells, the lighting… it’s just **chef’s kiss**Thank you for creating such a cool place to come.

Amazing atmosphere, great staff, decent coffee and drink options. A little overpriced, but what isn't these days?

A cozy coffee house, perfect for end of the night hangouts. The ambiance and drinks are top tier. Props to Jay, he is an amazing barista and a gentle soul that makes you feel really welcomed. Would give more than five stars if I could.

Ordered a chai latte. The interior is pretty cool! Lots of greenery at the front. ? There’s also an option to sit outside under trees at the back. ??
