Amazing atmosphere, plentiful vegan options, and I was truly amazed by the fantastic service! The worker was alone and still so attentive and kind. They were out of one the veggies for the hummus plate, so brought us different veggies to try, extra bread, and an orange to make up for it! Just really wholesome vibes in a great location :)
i came in just to peek around and ended up staying for like an hour and a half. the smell in here?? unreal. like old pages and good coffee. the shelves are kinda chaotic but in the best way. found a random poetry zine from the 90s i didn’t even know i needed.
the back gallery was closed when i came but the staff said they rotate exhibitions every few weeks so i’m def coming back. iced matcha was solid. not too sweet. wifi was a little slow but honestly i didn’t mind. felt like a safe cozy hideout from downtown noise.
if you like books, art, and quiet people who mind their business... this is your spot.
Amazing. I review a lot of cafes and this place is a vibe. Great books, an amazing courtyard/patio and a fantastic Maple Brown Sugar Latte. My visit was exquisite and I will return.
Iris Book Café is an absolute gem—perhaps the most unique and memorable café in Cincinnati! ☕📚 From the cozy book-filled atmosphere to the charming courtyard in the back, this spot is truly special. I stopped in between real estate appointments with Harmer Home Team and couldn’t have picked a better place to recharge. My mocha dirty chai iced was the perfect mix of bold and sweet. The pumpkin bread was delicious too! A big shoutout to Jay, the barista, who was so sweet, informative, and personable—she made the experience even better. I especially loved sitting out on the beautiful patio, where I had the chance to chat with two other customers who were also enjoying the afternoon. It was a real treat to talk about some local events—a truly neighborly way to spend an hour on a perfect spring day. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind café experience in Cincinnati, this is it. Highly recommend!
Wonderful cafe, with great vegetarian and vegan options for great prices. The person on staff today was very friendly as well. The courtyard is one of the nicest areas to sit and chat in I've found in the area.
Great bookstore!
Good to work from, quiet and cozy, but need to learn how to make a latte, watery and runny foam...
What a gem! Great drinks, friendly service, books, and a peaceful courtyard oasis that makes you forget you're in the city. Would be our regular spot if we lived here.

Clean, quiet & adorable place! I wish I would have known about this place when I was in school and needed places to study. My vanilla iced latte is delicious & the husband loves his drip coffee.

The maple brown sugar latte was amazing. And the atmosphere is beyond perfect. Highly recommend for a slow Sunday morning. Also- their mugs are literally perfect, large handles with perfect thumb spots.

Careful for folks with allergies, ask what's in everything. They use different naming schemas here
