Great service. I had Thai barbecue salmon for lunch and it was delicious.

Easy to park.

After 25 years of having our annual Christmas party on the 23rd of December, J. Alexander's has told us that they no longer want us to come back. For no reason other than apparently, they don't want to make money. The manager was completely out of line and rude about it and we will be taking our business elsewhere. We had between 80-100 people patron the establishment that day and he does not want any of them back in the restaurant. These are all people aged 50 and up, not rowdy, not students, local professionals who have gotten together every year here for 25 years. We will now be taking our business elsewhere and suggest you do to!

Service here is great nothing for us to complain about but the food is below average. Also, we don't know if it's our table but it's too dark inside especially during daytime.

The food was delicious. Service was impeccable. Our server Maggie made my mother's 86th birthday special. Food and service 10/10.

I come here often. However, I came in today during a light lunch time and was not acknowledged at the bar. The bartenders avoided eye contact and did not serve me. By the time one bartender asked if the old food and drink sitting in front of me was mines (she knew it wasn’t!), I was already packing up to leave. I’ve spent far too much money here, but I won’t waste another dollar. I was the only black person at the bar btw.

I visited J Alexdaner yesterday for lunch and was disappointed with the experience. Our server did his job but seemed completely disengaged, with a very sad and robotic demeanor. For my appetizer, I ordered calamari, and unfortunately, I found a hair wrapped around one of the pieces. I pointed it out to the server, and all I received was a simple ‘I’m sorry about that.’ By then I had eaten about half, but as a courtesy, the dish should have been removed from the bill since I couldn’t finish it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Overall, it left me with a negative impression.

The service here is great and very attentive, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the lighting inside is way too dark and makes it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. Most of the food also had far too much salt, which took away from the flavors and didn’t feel very healthy. Overall, not a bad experience, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.

I love J Alexander’s, we’ve been going there for years, my daughter worked there, excellent service, today we went for our Anniversary, set outside and the service was horrible, the waitress never introduced herself, never came to take our eaten appetizer empty plates before dinner, never refilled our water, just so unlike your establishment. My mahi tuna salad was soggy when I told the waitress she said maybe it’s been sitting to long, really

If you're looking for a very good steakhouse with excellent quality food, great service, atmosphere, and affordable that's without the Jeff Ruby price tag, then I would recommend giving this establishment a try. It's a nice step up from your Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse chains. It's very reasonably priced for the food and service you receive. Everything on the menu that I have orderd has been excellent. So if you're looking for something more than your average chain steakhouse without dropping the high end steakhouse pricing, then I would recommend giving it a try.

We came here for lunch on a weekday. The place was pretty packed around noon; you probably don't need a reservation at lunchtime, but it might be nice to have because there weren't many empty tables. I mostly chose this place because of the variety on the the lunch menu. A lot of decent restaurants have limited menus at lunch time, but J. Alexander's has plenty of options for all moods/preferences. We had the salmon dip and deviled eggs for starters. Both were quite tasty and had good flavors. I had the Thai Kai salad. All the entrees (and cocktails) had very large portions; my salad had plenty of chicken, good textures, and tasty dressing.. it filled me up and then some. The bayou pasta was pretty good per one of my guests. They get a B+ grade for the food. I'll give them a C for service. We didn't get any refills on our water, and we there for at least 90 minutes. Also, our server was kind of short with us -- taking off before we could finish our order or get a full sentence out. Otherwise, everything came out relatively quickly, despite being busy at lunch time. I'd come back.
