These are definitely a luxury dessert. They are only meant to be enjoyed for special occasions. I used to think that they were too pricey but then I used my points to attend their 3 hour cooking class so now I understand why they are so high. I will just continue to buy them because I don't have the skill set, equipment nor patience to make them myself.
Delicious! This cute little macaron shop is easy for slipping in and out and doesn't feel overwhelming like some bakeries can. The seasonal selection of flavors is big enough to make you crave them all and small enough to leave you hungry for the ones that will hit at other times of the year (salted caramel and strawberry milkshake are current faves). These are colorful, flaky, delicate and sweet like true macarons should be, giving you a teensy bit of Paris here in Hyde...
WE MADE MACARONS!
I've enjoyed their macarons for a long time. Yesterday, I had an opportunity to learn the basics of making this sweet little cookie.
My grandson and I took a class at the Downtown location. A Macaron Master taught us a lot of nifty skills. We followed her step by step and ended up taking home about two dozen macrons.
Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The class was fun, interesting, and far different from other baking...
