Maury's Tiny Cove Steakhouse

Just based off of hearing how the owner treats customers and staff I’ll never go back here. The last time I was there the food was super mid and they couldn’t even sit our party at the same table to begin with. They were walking around the restaurant looking for the couple we were meeting there like a bunch of amateurs who have never operated a restaurant . Then come to find out from a former employee, they have many health code violations….

I know we went on New Years Eve, so the 3 hours is ok . It was the food that was bad. My bbq was so hard and overcooked. My friend had chopped steak that smelled rancid and had to be turned away. my other friend ordered medium steak and was severely overcooked. This was my first time and last time for this restaurant. I'm sorry to say that, I was excited because it has a deep rooted history on the West Side.

Reading the site information for the restaurant it sounded like a really nice place to eat with a retro vibe. I do not think it was retro at all… it looked old and little dirty. Ceiling tiles with stains on them from water leaks. But still we waited …After waiting for 2 hours for dinner to arrive to the table…the food was cold and had to be sent back. The waitress was nice and friendly and apologized but she did not cook the food. After the remake of the steaks, they came out and where so tuff that the steak knife could barley cut through the meat. We ate there, once… we won’t be back and will not recommend.

First time at this restaurant and will never go again my steak was bland and really over cooked my friends prime rib was terrible and when he complained the owner came over Matthew and argued and said you didn't even taste it very argumentative for no reason well he got another one and we all tasted it so tough and overcooked. Not one apology from the staff or management. My other friend tried to pour pepper on her steak and the top was off, so it poured all over her meal. The place was dirty no wonder they dim the lights. They only brought 4 rolls we had 5 in our party. Lets just say never again. We also had an elderly person in our group who could not do stairs. The reservation was messed up so he had to navigate down two stairs.with his walker. They have been going there for years but not anymore.

Very nice food. They charge for baguette (which is usually free in similar Restaurants). Service was okay. It feels a little uncoordinated and no attention to detail.

First in the door for 5pm reservation for anniversary dinner. Took over 30 minutes to receive food as waiters more focused on large table. Prime rib was like warm and without flavor baked potato was overdone. Lasagna was cold. Rolls were not refilled. $100 disappointment.

We ate downstairs, enjoyed a Filet and Baked Cod combo with spinach and noodles, some garlic mushrooms, and broccoli. The staff was great and very attentive. Finished the meal with a piece of cheesecake with a chocolate, carmel, and raspberry drizzle. All the while playing in the background was great music (Rat Pac style music). It was a great experience.

Food quality has declined since our last visit. Will probably not return, there are way to many places to eat to return.

Great ribs! It's like stepping back in time. No televisions blasting sports, music or fail videos. You can actually hear and talk to those that came with you! Highly recommended if you like good food, good service and actually like those that you've come to dine with!

Food was fantastic. Waitress was spot-on. Highly recommend the peanut slaw too.
