Didn't live that you took my reservation for 6 at 12:30 and when we arrived, you said we had to go upstairs. Not a soul there except us. Not what expected or had in mind.
We had a delightful evening. We were greeted, ordered a drink and told the server we were not in a rush. She checked on us occasionally but did not pressure us to order. When we ordered, we were overwhelmed with the size of the salads. Everything was delicious and well presented. It was a great evening. Our server was Samantha and she was wonderful! Thanks!
Love the restaurant; the food and service are great. The lighting and seating in the dining room downstairs can use improvement
Booth bench was very uncomfortable and pulled too far from table. Otherwise, good dining experience.
Went for an early dinner. Was warmly welcomed by everyone. Food and service were really excellent...
We had a company event on December 5 in the Glendale Room. We had 23 people in attendance. Our food was delicious. The room set up was perfectly. The best part was how well Brandy took care of us to make sure our drinks were full and everyone was enjoying themselves. We will be back! Thank you Meritage for a wonderful evening! - VK

I love this place! The atmosphere in the cold winter months is wonderful. The upstairs is like stepping into history with the beautiful bar, fireplace and wood work. The food was awesome. We had the brussels sprouts for an appetizer (best sprouts in the city bar none!). I had the French Dip, my husband had the BLT and our friends had the crab cakes and 1/2 chicken. We were all extremely pleased with the taste, quality and portions. I can't wait to go back for the brussels sprouts appetizer and try another entree!

We arrived very early, just as they opened for dinner service. We were told that it was happy hour but weren't provided or made aware that there was a happy hour menu, so nothing we ordered was eligible. We didn't specifically go for happy hour, but if you're going to bring it up, why wouldn't you why advise of the menu?
Reviews suggested the stuffed mushrooms and brussel sprout as must try appetizers. The brussels were probably the best item we had, including our dinner. The mushrooms were ok; a little heavy on the cream cheese if I'm being honest.
For dinner, we had the monk fish. The fish was good, but the dish as a whole was not remarkable. Cooked well, seasoned well, but fish on rice is fish on rice, to a degree. The dish needed something to make it stand out.. a chive oil, or chili oil to give it a pop of color and flavor.
The service was above average, in spite of the menu confusion. There was live music and a nice atmosphere. I would consider going back if only to see how they stand up on a protein like beef or pork.
I ordered the burnt orange old fashioned. There is a lot of room for improvement here. The drink was not bourbon-forward at all, either because of the ice melt or under-poured bourbon, or both. The burnt orange slice was very visually appealing, but I didn't have a second as I typically would with dinner. An ice ball and a full 2oz measure of bourbon would make immediate improvement.
Parking is a adequate but cramped, but those from the area know what to expect in that pretty of Glendale.

Food good. Very crowded at lunch but it's a small room. Used to be the Iron Horse Inn.

Servers are great at Meritage! The only drawback are the multiple trains that go by... but if you're familiar with Glendale, then you won't mind them.
Went for my dad's birthday with a party of 8 at 7pm. Parking was fine. Our reservation took awhile to seat and the hostess was dismissive of guest trying to be seated. Once we got our table we were seated upstairs in a nice private room. Our server was so nice and friendly. Not sure if they were short staffed or just not equipped to deal with large parties but we waited 45 minutes for drinks. Another 20 for appetizers and finally got dinner at 8:45. Half of the food was good. The other half was very bland. Took forever to cash us out as well. Finally walked out the door at 9:30. Maybe it's just me but that's a long time for dinner.
Food was delicious. We ate there on a Monday nite n our room filled up. We had a treat as several trains passed by while we were eating. Nice!
This is our go-to place for any celebration and even when we are not celebrating anything. The food, service and drinks are always fabulous!
