I ate breakfast/brunch here a few times during my stay. Overall, the food quality was good, but not too varied. One morning I was served berries that were moldy. Coffee was ok. Cappuccino was mediocre. Service was sometimes slow.

The food our waiter Jeremy recommended was amazing, great service... only disappoint was the restaurant needs a renovation.

First time here. We were greeted and seated immediately and the waiter brought water and took our drink order very timely. Although things were ticking off quickly, we never felt rushed or pressured at all. The food was eclectic and a different preparation than the usual “go to” at a lot of establishments. I will say the menu is very limited. We had the crab tots appetizers, we wife had the beef shoulder and I had the duck. All was presented beautifully, hot, and very good. We did buy an order of bread for the table (I still think bread should be gratis). By dessert we were both full; but the waiter treated us to dessert anyway! The meal was completed with lemon cotton candy! Overall, a bit pricy; but a very enjoyable dinner.
The service was outstanding! Matt was very attentive and helped make a birthday celebration fun. The food was phenomenal! Dining with a penguin and ending the meal with in-house made cotton candy was an experience we'll never forget!!
My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Cincinnati The new menu is unbelievable. The beer cheese appetizer was a fun, interactive experience. The short rib was perfectly cooked and beautifully tender. The new chicken entree was this poultry lover's perfect plate- crispy, tender and juicy. As we were celebrating a birthday, the management sent over a complimentary desert. It was an extraordinary little glazed donut. My nephew remarked, ´That ruined Krispy Kreme for life.' We were blown away by our evening. Metropole hits on all cylinders - service, cuisine, culture and ambience.
My grandson likes this restaurant (he's 11), but there have to be some changes in protocol. We had reservations for lunch yesterday; I began receiving reminders 24+ hours in advance, then a series of ‘warnings': my reservation would be held for only 10 minutes, we had to order, eat, and pay in one hour or less (so that other diners could be seated). Plus more reminders! When we arrived at 12:15 pm yesterday, we were the ONLY diners in the entire room. No greeter at front desk, seat yourself sign. When I told a server about the relentless reminders that escalated to warnings, she said ‘those are automated'. That is the worst excuse ever! Then no desserts available at lunch which is now brunch. No dessert! The whole thing was off putting. Doesn't anyone review these processes? Btw—good cheese omelet and grandson liked his breakfast meal.
quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the entire world. multiple things I've had here (especially the salmon) are the best I've ever had
Outstanding. We had a lovely dinner here before our event at The Aronoff. Our waiter was cognizant of our time limitations and orchestrated our dinner seamlessly. He was wonderfully attentive and gracious. All of our food was delicious, however the fresh asparagus salad, gnocchi and chicken dishes were outstanding. Lovely dining room and ambiance. Just loved it.
This has always been one of my favorite places in Cincinnati. Unfortunately, the current menu is quite disappointing. I hope to return once the menu improves.
We split the seasonal pea salad . Hubby ordered the short rib, I had the ricotta gnocchi. For dessert we had the cruller and the pana cotta. Yum! Everything was delicious and our server Lance took good care of us! We always eat here when we come to Cincinnati!

We had dinner at Metropole before going to a play. The atmosphere is pleasant with a pretty vibrant noise level. The energy level seemed fun. Our service was great, she was enthusiastic and friendly. We started with the beer cheese with toast which was more of a "whipped" version that I was expecting and not particularly beer flavored. We then followed with salmon au poivre and a gnocchi as entrees and both were delicious. My only thought is that the menu is a bit limited in choices.
Never offered to take a food order. Upset the Filet is off the menu. The only reason I made a reso on Mother's Day was the filet served on truffle polenta. Bad experience all around. Been going for years, but will never go back.
The food, seemed like a restaurant trying to be too different, quirky. It failed miserably on several accounts. I wanted to really like this restaurant, but sadly this is a one and done for us.
The sunday brunch menu was a bit limited. However, the food we chose was excellent. Service was average.
Very limited menu considering it was a Mother's Day brunch. Service was less than average, not very upbeat or cheerful. Just was not up to snuff given the assertion of this being an upscale restaurant. Example, table was tacky and we had to ask for it to be properly cleaned. We had to ask for salt & pepper and then a server came and asked us if they cord take it to another table shortly after it arrived?
