Montgomery Towne Tavern

Looking for a suburbs dive bar? Montgomery Tavern is the place to go. Small, intimate, just good vibes all around. 1 pool table and 1 dart board, so it’s hard to play if that’s your thing. But the biggest surprise is, this place easily has top 3 smoked wings in Cincinnati, right up there with kickback nats and oak tavern (among a lot of great wing spots in the city). I ALWAYS take my out of town friends and family here for their wings.

Came to Montgomery Towne Tavern based on a recommendation for their wings. We are in town for work for 3 months and wanted try some local spots. Upon arriving, we found a couple spots at the bar. The bartender, Alicia, whom we had to ask if we could order some drinks and for food menus, as she was preoccupied by talking with regulars about her recent car accident. Finally got our drinks, a beer and a martini. We had to ask to order food, after 20 minutes of asking for menus. We ordered wings, ribs, tots and potato salad, which were all very good. The wings had a little too much pepper, as it over powered the flavor of the chicken. The selection of sauces were amazing and definitely complimented the flavor of the smoked wings. Not once did Alicia ask us if we needed anything or how our food was. I sat for a good 20 mins with an empty glass before asking for another round. After the 2nd request, I asked if it was ok if I ordered another cocktail, her response was “would like the same thing”. After confirming, yes, she DID NOT, make my drink!!! She did dishes instead for about 5 minutes. Being the industry as a GM of a restaurant/bar, this is totally unacceptable. Customer service is first priority! Finally got my drink. It’s unfortunate, as word of mouth is everything these days, and especially with small local businesses. I’m all about supporting local, but when the service is less than stellar, I won’t support. When asking for our tab, we never were how everything was. Needless to say, we will not be returning, especially because of the poor customer service.

I stopped in for some wings and a drink while I waited. The lady behind the bar was slinging liquor food and (good) attitude in equal measures. I enjoyed watching her interact with folks. Definitely a locals spot. Hoping these wings are a banger, but they have a great reputation

Edit: I may have spoken too soon. About a third of the wings were just burned and hard to eat. The ones that weren't were lightly seasoned and were clearly meant to be consumed with a sauce. 7/10 on the wings. Idk if I would order them again given other options in the area. Service is great. Food is not

My sister and I was going through a difficult time and the excellent, extraordinary heart felt customer service we received from Alesia our server was needed. She was so very attentive. We will definitely return.

The smoked wings are amazing ! With a flight of homemade sauces these wings do not disappoint . Absolutely delicious and may be the best smoked wings I've ever had . Alicia behind the bar 🍺 had amazing service 😄. 5 stars and will be back for more wings !

The wings and ribs are amazing.

Fun local tavern with lots of TVs, darts and bar coordinated games. We went for an afternoon drink and felt welcomed. Drinks were generous and reasonably priced. The potato skins were excellent. This is apparently a favorite lunch spot. A little hard to find tucked in the far left end of the strip shopping center.
