If I wasn’t driving I would have took a pick . I got more condiments then I got hotdog . Taste was horrible and bubble guts is what you will get . I won’t ever be back . It’s not even worth a second try . Don’t waste your money . The Chicago dog . It’s half of a half of a hotdog . Yes read it again . I think it’s made that way so they can fit half a pickle half of tomato peppers relish and whatever else . Trust me you get plenty of vegetables on a hotdog bun with a very small slice of hotdog. Oh yea the chewy onion rings was so greasy and nasty we was upset like how did you mess these up. The gyro dog was decent probably because I was so hungry at the time but after that bite from the onion ring it went down hill .

We have driven by so many times and finally checked it out, very good authentic Chicago dogs, deserving of the Gene + Jude reference in namesake. Also, the chili cheese coneys are huge and super tasty, my son immediately proclaimed them better than Skyline. Only letdown was the fries are very plain, literally don't think they even put salt on them, if they do, they should try tripling the amount so it's noticable.

Let me tell you if you are looking for some great food with great service for a great price Mt Gene's is what you want
Mr. Gene's has been my favorite place to get coneys and chili cheese fries for years. I always get at least 2 hot chili cheese metts and the chili cheese fries (the Chicago dog is also amazing). The only reason everyone argues over whether or not skyline and gold star is better than one another is because Mr. Gene's is in a way out of their league and has consistently been the best coney place for as long as I've known.

Great spot the large cheese Coney is just a regular length hot dog Bartlett is a skinny hot dog. It is the size of a regular hot dog bun. Good taste great long-standing community stop in the neighborhood.
