Waited over 20 mins for the bartender to make two drinks.
I had a snobby bartender who had a problem with me just ordering a diet coke. I won't be returning for cocktail.

Came here late on a Friday night, the bartenders, Haley and AJ, were so dope. Drinks were bomb, service was even better. Highly recommend!

1/2 daiquiris on Mondays? One of the best happy hours I have seen in Cincy. Everything we tried was delicious! Super cute inside as well.
Best happy hour downtown. Runs til 7.
Incredible bar
Stood at the bar for 15min and no service after being told we’d be helped 3x. Cool joint, just not enough staff I’d guess
Friendly staff..great beverage options.. tropical feel. They don't serve food but are happy to recommend places nearby and allow you to bring in food!
Go to Knock Back Nats down the street. The bartenders are attentive. Pilar bar tenders are terrible.

Enjoyed the visit; good place to stop after a downtown concert.
Fun, intimate little bar with a "Hemingway" vibe. Imaginative themed cocktails named for Hemingway characters & events... really charming bartender and a dark "tropical" environment. (Bring your own snacks) Enjoyed this great "moody" hangout. Pineapple Upside Down Daiquiri was especially good!

Pilar has become my favorite watering hole since moving to this neighborhood (OTR) in July -- partly for it's thematic atmosphere, but mostly for it's exceptionally welcoming bar staff, management, and the kind of patrons in attracts. It's not uncommon to find myself in a good, impromptu conversation (which, IMHO, is why one would go to a pub for). In short, a great place to become a "regular."
The place is Ernest Hemmingway themed, named after the American author's boat. There is, in fact, a cut-out of the author in the back corner bedecked with Hawaiian leis. The music both within the place's outdoor seating, is a steady playlist of laid-backed Carribean beats, reminiscent of my city of origin: Miami.
To the extent that a spot in Cincinnati can be "tropical," this is it.
It has unbelievably affordable happy-hour beer prices, a regular bingo night, and small ensembles of live music every other Friday.
