I heard so many positive things about this restaurant but a positive experience is not what I had! I ordered the fried chicken dinner and was very happy to know that I would have to wait because it was cooked to order! But as I waited. I saw the sides i ordered being microwaved if you are going to do that make sure it’s in the back! When I received my food the chicken was cooked two times over! When I say hard and dark you wouldn’t believe that they would even serve it! When I took it back in Ms Rasheeda wasn’t very happy with me! Even after see the overly overly cooked chicken! I simply asked to exchange for a different meal the lamb and even after my inconvenience she asked for the difference in price! So I walked to my car to get the money but the more I thought about I didn’t want the food anymore so I requested a refund upon my return which made her even more unhappy but she did refund but only after checking the meal box and noticing that the small piece of bread that comes with meal was missing and I returned it to her! I hope for the public’s health she will not serve that to anyone else! I guess I went on an off day! But I will not go back again because of the customer service! And Ms Rasheeda please stop counting your money in the front!

I have known and tasted Rasheedah's cooking for over 30 years and even suggested early on she needed to open her own restaurant. It just keeps getting better my Dear Friend!

I've been going to this restaurant since they were located in Evanston. The food isn't the same. It's incomparable to what it used to be years ago. The food sometimes is too salty. Other times the croquettes are over cooked. I give up on trying to make it work.

Don’t waste your money! The short ribs taste old and covered with too much barbecue sauce. The greens taste dirty, and horrible. The greens was so horrible that I never tasted greens this bad in my life. The Mac and cheese was decent. The cornbread was good. I also ordered the salmon croquettes, butter potatoes and cabbage. The cabbage was good but it was cooked with the end of the cabbage too.The red potatoes would’ve been good if they wasn’t cook so long taking the tenderness out of the potatoes. The place opened up at 12:00 pm but the staff was late. Don’t waste your money!

This restaurant comes highly recommended, but like most things is overrated. Mrs. Rasheedah was the person that greeted me, helped prepare my food, and rang me up. She was very pleasant. I bought the salmon croquettes with green beans and rice. The rice was bland and had a boil in the bag aftertaste. The green beans had a decent taste. The salmon croquette was a great size with a great crust, but the filling was missing a little flavor. I also ordered the beef short ribs with buttered potatoes and collard greens. The beef rib was very unappetizing. It was slathered in a thick odd tasting bbq sauce that made it very difficult to eat. The greens were tangy and had a lot of the larger stems cut in it. The buttered potatoes were ok. I recommend that if you still want to try it that you order about 30 minutes of it needing to be ready. There is very old and limited seating making the wait somewhat uncomfortable. I am glad I got a chance to try it, but not sure I'd try it again.

Love this place! If you're looking for a nice soul food or that home cooked feel, this is the spot! Barbecue beef rib dinner, the burgers, the chicken, fish is all amazing & the sides are good too! I've been eating at Rasheedah's for over 20+ yrs & the food is always great! Customer for life!

This is not a "dine in" restaurant. Call in your order in advance. The food is prepared when you order it, so if you don't order in advance you will have a 15 to 20 min wait, but the meal is worth it! Excellent serving sizes. We got the fish dinner and each one was enough for 2 people!! Well seasoned without being overpowering. Everything was delicious.

Was excited to visit, unfortunately went in, and honestly couldn’t even get the order placed properly… like I’m new here. I had questions about the menu, etc. and the lady wanted me to basically yell my order to her and questions I’m not naturally a loud person so I just said forget it thank you and left.
