The sauce has a great flavor. Atmosphere is dark, but inviting. Everything we ate was delicious. Thanks. Will be back when in Cincinnati

Food was not great and the employees are very rude (and before I get a snarky comment from the restaurant… YES I am reviewing
the right place!!)

Dont let the name fool you. It is an authentic Italain restaurant. Family owned and operated since 1912.

This place is a our place to go before going to the opera in Cincinnati. My wife and father in law have been going here for 33 years and I just joined them 5 years ago and we look forward to going there. When you eat Italian food, it's all about the sauce and Scotti's has the best. A huge menu and I can't get enough of the lasagna. I have taken my older children and they too really enjoyed the food. Rena, Pat and Marco are like family. If you haven't been, you should try, but be prepared to compare every place forward to Scotti's.

Nothing else like it, a throwback to another era. Still family-run and making authentic Italian dishes after all these decades. Delicious. Not cheap but you will leave full.

This place is absolutely amazing! 4th generation, authentic as it comes, Rena cooks all the sauces and desserts. What a fantastic find and it’s worth going out of your way. Such a great place…

We were very excited to try this place out. We had a few people tell us to try it out. We were very disappointed with the service and quality of food. The service was extremely slow. They were a little steady but not busy, even for a Saturday night. There were more than a few open tables and several people waiting on food and the servers sitting around or setting up empty tables. Yet, we were not checked on one time on top of the service being very very slow. The garlic bread was excellent and that was about it. My wife got spaghetti and meat balls and I had the lasagne. Both were medium to smaller portions. Both were very bland and cheese was not offered. My lasagne had next to no cheese at all or lasagne pasta/noodles. It was mostly luke warm bland ground beef. To add insult to injury, it was 80 bucks for both our dishes and 1 glass of wine/beer.

Reply to the owner I’m 100 percent positive this was your restaurant.

I usually don't write reviews but this is by far the worst restaurant and food I've ever had in my life. You would be left to think that a restaurant that has been in service for over 100 years would be good, but the food by far is a disgrace to Italy. Everything is made out of a can, probably Kroger pasta. The free salad and soup taste like mildew and had to take a bite before spitting it out. Just look at the salad, it's watery. The nasty burning candle is horrible. It has so much potential, but I wish I could buy it and even though I am not Italian, I can 100% guarantee that I can cook better pasta. This was the only time I took one bite out of my pasta, and throw it away immediately! Such a sad thing that Mr. Salvatore Scoleri immigrated to this great country only to have the food not be true to what he would want himself! Stay away or I hope this place gets new ownership.

pros: atmosphere is great, service was pretty good, starters (soup, garlic bread, salad) were tasty, a good cappuccino.
cons: the actual mains were absolutely terrible. we got veal marsala and it was suuuper sweet and the sauce was very starchy. veal picanti was also starchy and sauce was flavorless (somehow the capers didn't even taste like anything??). linguine with clams was watery and tasted of nothing. everything needed seasoning. red sauce was sweet and reminded me of la rosas pizza sauce. i suspect it was jarred.
overall it was a fun experience due to the atmosphere even despite the inedible food but i wouldn't return again.

I took my son/family here for my sons 14th birthday. There were five of us , the bill was plus 200+ before tip. The waiter took forever to take our order and never asked how the was once ot finally came . My son didnt even like his lasagna and was bummed so i traded him my plate of spaghetti. The waiter never made any effort to be pleasant or make us feel welcome. The bathroom is in the basement and the whole lower level
Smells like sewage . The food is overpriced and underwhelming. The waiter literally complained and basically strong armed me for money even though i tipped 20 cash/10 percent which i felt was beyond fair for mediocre food and terrible service .With so many other options im the area i would encourage you to steer clear of this outdated and extremely overpriced place. Ill necer go back and i hope i can save some people from wasting a night out on this place .

But if you are into 30 dollar plates of spaghetti and rude waiters this is the place to go ?

Kid-friendliness: I took my kid here for his 14th birthday and they did absolutely nothing to make it feel special and couldn’t care less about trying to be friendly in general.

After reading the reviews, sounds like bad service is common. Don't want to chance having my meal ruined by bad service won't be coming.

One of the most original restaurants in Cincinnati. The Italian food was also terrific!
