Simply put, this is the finest chicken east of the Mississippi River. Outstanding flavor! Sides are quite good also.

We had our family brunch there today. We had 2 family members in wheelchairs and they did everything to make sure everyone was comfortable. Such a loving atmosphere. Everyone was so nice, and they all were so sincere. The food and service was awesome. I would give them more stars if I could. Will be having our next family outing there. Very family friendly atmosphere.

I had their fish sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. Their coleslaw is fresh and taste. Great. French fries came out perfect and hot.

Throwback to 90s restaurants that have something for everyone

The Silver Spring House is one of the most amazing independent restaurants in the country. It is extremely well run. The food is fantastic. Yes, every item. Service is excellent. Yes, every time.

They are known for their chicken. If you go for the first time, try their Spring House Chicken -- Half Chicken ($23) Quarter White ($19) Quarter Dark ($16).

Others to try are the BCJ ($16). It's a chicken breast sandwhich topped with bacon, cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheeses. Pete's Special ($20) and the Roadhouse Burrito ($20) are two choices with chicken that have a Tex-Mex flair.

Don't want chicken, go for The Italian [Hoagie] ($16). Also, the Fresh Salmon Filet ($29) is a huge piece of fish at eight ounces.

If salads are your thing, go with Lane's Spinach Salad ($19) or the Strawberry Almond Salad ($19).

Silver Spring House does not take reservations. Despite having seating of at least 400 seats, you're going to wait. The question is just how long. People love this place. It is full on Tuesdays as it is Friday's.

Grab a drink at the bar and some free popcorn and peanuts to pass the time.

I promise you, with a 100% degree of certainty, you will love this place. A +++

Nice place, delicious food

It's been at least 2 years when we were last here. And just happened to drive by on our way to a wine tasting event and saw the place packed! Which is always a good sign Forgot all about it till the event wrapped up and cheese cubes, sausages and crackers don't go very far so needless to say a late dinner was on the menu and we stopped 9:30 ish is a great time to stop since most of the crowd was gone Got seated right away after parking in the front row! Hostess and waitress was very friendly even after the Saturday evening rush!
So the Mrs got house salad and the basil vinaigrette and the blood orange vinaigrette wasn't her thing and settled on the raspberry vinaigrette which was really good! Followed up with the fish and chips but grilled and blackened with a baked potato. Their tartar sauce is the bomb by the way. Very good size and delicious!
I got the chili and side salad with Italian dressing. Chili was good and not quite like the traditional style but still very tasty and I added jalapeños, onions, cheese and sour cream. Probably would've gotten something else but since it was already late I just went for the lighter side of dinner.
*Seating hack- It was cold last night and we got a high top table next to the garage door windows so it was pretty cool next to them so if you're hot blooded ask for them and if you're cold blooded try to get one more on the inside.

Completely unreasonably long wait to get seated and they cannot even remotely accurately estimate wait times. I would have left if they would have been honest about the wait time

Hands down the best chicken I've ever had!

Came here after being recommended the half chicken. The taste, tenderness and spices of the chicken really made my day.

On top of that, great service and side dishes. I will be back for sure!
