Sorrento's Italian Joint

We had dinner here for my grandfather's birthday party and the Italian stallion looked like a delicious sandwich so I ordered it. It came out more like the Italian pony 1 layer of meat each and was just lacking luster the cesar salad I got as a side was also too creamy. The service was great and my other family enjoyed their meals. I was just disappointed with my meal.

They forgot about my girlfriend and I for almost 20 minutes before we even got water. couple in front of us didn’t have a reservation and got seated and got food way before us.

I went with a group of other women on a Wednesday night. We had the side room to ourselves. It was nice and quiet so we could talk. Our server was Taylor. She was nice but wasn’t around much. She also got some of our orders wrong. She sold me on this peppermint cheesecake but then said it was actually a mint cheesecake. That was going to be ok until I opened it at home and found out it was just a plain cheesecake. So I probably won’t come back.

If I could rate the service any lower, I would. We had reservations at 630 and we were seated in a timely manner. From there, it took a little longer than normal to order our drinks (not a big deal, it’s Saturday night). That’s only the beginning. The service was terrible. Our waitress only came and checked on us 3 times. We waited 10+ minutes in between drinks/refills. Again, there were 11 of us we weren’t mad or annoyed (yet). After an hour and a half we finally got our food, but in bits. Half of us were about done eating and the other half of us hadn’t even gotten our food. One of us was sitting without food. His food didn’t come out until the rest of us were asking for boxes. Not exaggerating. Another 45 minutes were still waiting for our bills. Our bills finally come and there were items on my bill I did not order. When I addressed this with our waitress she just ignored me and I had to pay it anyway. When the last meal came out we asked right away to speak to a manager. We spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promised she would take the meal off of the bill. When the time came, she did the exact opposite. She proceeded to tell me that because of our large party I received my meal in a feasible amount of time. Again, by the time I received my food the other 10 members of my party were finished and getting boxes and also we had been there for two hours at this point. She said she was not going to take my meal off of my bill even though she previously promised she would when I initially talked to her and then she walked away from me and refused to talk to me. I was not causing a scene or yelling in anyway, just trying to address my concerns. The food was pretty good but nowhere near worth all of this. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Cincinnati Pizza Week brought us here! Fiancé has high standards for Italian food and loved the red sauce on the pizza. Food was great. Wedge was the best wedge salad I’ve ever had and HUGE! Restaurant is decorated lovely and smells like Italy. Service, however, was disappointing. Host stand is at the other end of the entrance. Unless there’s a different entrance we didn’t know about- but didn’t see any signs stating otherwise. Host didn’t greet and rather went to the table and pointed for me to come to the table rather than walking us there. Table was hardly cleaned and food on the table cloth. Not a single person came to our table to greet us for almost 15 min. Server didn’t apologize for us waiting. Server hardly came by to check after food came out or would do so when walking by, not stopping to check on us. I wanted a bowl for the wedge salad. It was huge so hard to eat on the plate but she didn’t stop long enough for me to tell her and I had to blag someone else down. Al thought it was Pizza Week, I would’ve expected it to be busy but business didn’t seem busy and had several tables to expect this kind of service. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

A nice spot for some simple Italian fare. Pizza is the big draw, but they do have a smaller/limited Italian dinner menu. Friendly and attentive service.

This place is THE best Italian joint in Cincinnati!. If you're in Cincinnati and don't come to this restaurant you're a fool.

The cheese cake is worth every cent!
