Delicious food, good service and friendly
If you’re a soul food lover visiting Cincinnati, do yourself a favor and make a stop here—this place is the real deal. The food was hot, fresh, and clearly cooked with heart, soul, and love—you can taste the care and tradition in every bite. This isn’t canned or frozen food warmed up in the back—this is authentic, home-style cooking just like grandma used to make.
I had the catfish dinner, and it was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. My husband went with the fried chicken, and it was golden, juicy, and full of flavor—exactly how fried chicken should be. Every side was seasoned just right and tasted homemade too.
From the warmth of the food to the richness of the flavors, this spot truly delivered. If you’re in Cincinnati and craving true soul food, this is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!
My husband and I was out spending the day in Cincinnati and came across this restaurant. This place is nice the staff was attentive .
The food looks so good but to be honest this is not soul food to me the Mac n cheese was horrible the cornbread didn’t have no taste I also had the fish and greens they was ok !
The only thing was good good was the yams my husband said he chicken had no flavor. We also ordered peach cobbler and the waitress brought it to us in a plastic container from the refrigerator very cold I’ve never seen that before To have had to spend $77.00 on that we were very disappointed .
Imagine walking through the door of a small but quaint establishment. The ambiance is a vibe, and the host is prompt and polite. Then imagine sitting next to food that looks so good, you salve at the moment your food arrives. Then your plate arrives, and all you taste is disappointment.
I ordered whiting fish, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, and corn muffin. The macaroni and cheese is always a first go-to for me as it sets the tone for the plate. On its face, its beautiful, but it was disappointment at first bite. It lacked flavor and seasoning.
I went for the collard greens and hoped the outcome would be better. The first bite was OK, but the following bites left an after taste in my mouth. I was hoping the corn muffin could rescue the taste, but it was a hard pass.
The fish was OK, but I've had better. The hot sauce was needed to give it additional flavor. It took lacked seasoning.
The only dish I truly enjoyed was the candied yams. The taste reminded me of true southern cooking.
I really, really wanted to like this restaurant and wished I had taken a photo. Unfortunately, I don't see a possible return in the future. Even my boys didn't like the leftovers. I recommend that they hire a true southern chef because this was not it.
Soul food is supposed to make you feel something; nostalgia, comfort, down home, etc. Unfortunately, this felt like a failed attempt of a southern experience.
Food was AMAZING! Got the catfish and grits and friend chicken and waffles. Both plates were VERY VERY GOOD! Grits very well seasoned. Best I’ve had! Staff was very attentive.
Best catfish ever. Hands down. Quick service, fresh food, friendly staff.
Best catfish ever. You must try this sweet place that serves amazing comfort food.
Great atmosphere. They made us feel important. The food was amazing. The portions are so large that we actually could’ve split an of the entrees. Two in our party ordered the Fried Chicken. I ordered the Catfish. Our sides were Yams, Mac n Cheese, Green Beans, Collard Greens, Corn on the Cob. My only slight disappointment was the size of the Corn. It was barely the tip of an ear of Corn. Other than that, the food was incredible. Not much of a wait at all. Food came out piping hot.
Our waitress, Natasha, was phenomenal!
The food is incredible! Had the jambalaya and it was the best I’ve had! Service was prompt and friendly and everyone else loved their food as well. Priced well for the portions, and quality! Highly recommend if you’re near OTR.
The food is amazing !!!! We had the fish chicken and meatloaf, and the black eyed peas with rice …omg . Can’t wait to go back !!!
