The establishment didn't have anything we wanted to order, so we opted for a fish combo. The fish was good but the sides not so much so. Food wasn't that hot either could have been hotter and drinks been colder. Over all it was an okay experience for our first time.Parking: The paid parking lot was full so we had to find parking down the street on a side street a couple blocks away.

Food was good. Staff didn't make us feel welcomed; we rushed our meal just for this reason. Server wasn't friendly, she never asked if we were ok or needed a refill. Service is just as important as the food. As a visitor to Cincinnati, I doubt we go back when visiting the city again.

I’ll leave an honest review as I don’t do these unless I feel the need… the only thing was the chicken I had and my friends had the fish which they said was good. There is nothing soulful about that bland food! Mac and cheese had no type of seasoning the sweet potatoes taste like canned food and the cornbread was like cardboard! We had dirty silverware and egg shells in food! Would not recommend and would not be back.

Service was great and the food was good. Had catfish dinner, Mac and greens. Greens were just okay. Not flavorful, but the fish and Mac was very good. The only thing that concerned me is the paper that the food was served on was soaked and the actual ink got on our food.I'm a survivor and that really concerns me.

This black owned and operated establishment is all that they describe on their website! The family portraits on the walls make you feel like you're visiting the owners home. Most of the food came out piping hot and was well seasoned; not salty either. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. I got the whiting plate with Mac n chz and sweet potatoes and a 3-piece chicken add on. I gave 4 stars because the fish was fried harder than I like and the chicken and cornbread were not as hot as the rest of the food. Yet, I would absolutely go back to this place!

My husband and I went for lunch, were seated right away and were served quickly and we had a friendly server. The sweet potatoes were deliciously on point!!! I'm going to keep going back until I've tried everything on the menu.

Soul Secrets was fantastic. We ordered the fried chicken, meatloaf and chicken and waffles. Our sides were Mac n cheese, and collard greens. We had ZERO complaints. The crisp on the chicken was amazing! Everything was seasoned to perfection! We also ordered the banana pudding, peach cobbler and pound cake. All 3 were so good! We ate the pound cake so fast I didn’t get a good pic! I will definitely go back when we return to Cincinnati.

Good food. Had the fried whiting, with fries and cole slaw.Kept it lite as I didn't want to get the "itis" and fall asleep on the rest of the night.? My wife had the fried whiting sandwich. Took a bit longer to reach the table compared to mine but worth it she said. She has been a couple times before. My first time. I will go back and check out other options on the menu. Staff and owner are real nice. A "cozy" place to eat.Vegetarian options: A vegetarian section is listed on menu.

Going here was “randomly” selected by a friend from out of town and WOW… What a savory delight! Every bite was a delicious blast from the past, making me thinking of my grandmother’s incredible cooking, which I miss so much. The host serving us could’ve engaged a little more but that was certainly made up by meeting and engaging with the owner directly. Her story is amazing and I am honored to support her, her business, and her goals. There is an immediate vibe as soon as you walk in. From the decor, to the soulful story (shared along the walls), I'm all in for Soul Secrets. Definitely going back to share this experience with others!
