This place gets busy and doesn't offer an option to make reservations so expect to wait an hour or more to be seated. The food was mediocre and honestly not worth the wait. I got the blackened catfish with crawfish etoufee and was really disappointed as it was really salty. Took two bites and wasn't able to finish it. I had high expectations especially with how busy the place gets, but definitely not worth the wait.

Excellent first visit to Swamp water. We've been wanting to try it for so long and can't believe we didn't go sooner! The crispy pork belly appetizer is a must try! Everything was so hot and fresh and tasted amazing. Our server was outstanding and I wish I could remember her name now, she really knows how to balance taking great care of all of her guests at the same time. She was on top of refills, checking on us, even from afar and making sure everything was perfect.

Bringing a bit of Cajun to the North, Swampwater is a place to think about. The Gator bites were spot on and the hushpuppies crisp on the outside and perfect on the inside. 3 of us ordered the Catfish with various sides, the 1/2 slab of ribs and 2 of the Swamp Pasta. 2 of the catfish were good, but the 3rd one was undercooked. We let the waitress know but by the time they brought us out another piece of catfish everyone else was done eating. The ribs were a bit dry and the pasta was barely lukewarm. The atmosphere was really cool and it was attached to an antique mall with lots of really sweet old items. Definitely recommend giving it a try, but get there early and put your name on the wait list and then walk around the antique mall while you wait as it's not a large place. Can't give 1/2 stars or I would rate it more of a 3 1/2.

I don't think that there is any better place to go on FAT Tuesday than The Swampwater Grill on Kellogg! Let's start with the lovely hostesses. Rachel was so friendly and just a sweet person. The bartender D ( don't call her Darla), was awesome. super nice and amazingly efficient. We got the best server Alex! I was never without a drink and the food was totally on point. A lot of shared the a ton of food. We started with the gator bites. The meat was tender and outside crispy. I can't tell you how amazing the char grilled oysters were. Chris the owner said they were like crack. He isn't lying!!!! The pork chop was amazing and cooked to perfection. Great staff and amazing food! What more could one ask for!

There was a huge bug in my drink and that set the tone of the night. The ribs were dry, the vegetable were soggy, and the Mac and cheese tasted like it was from a box. The gator was cut so tiny the you couldn't really tell it was alligator, except the the tiny pieces were very chewy. The only shining star was the bread pudding with the bourbon sauce. I was so disappointed.

You need to change your mac & cheese recipe. The ones that we had were not good at all. Everybody loves mac & cheese, but we had to throw this away.
