Sweets and Meats Catered our wedding and we are so glad we chose them! They are great to work with and communicating and covering the details all went really well. They BBQ is delicious! I would definitely recommend them and if you are ever in Cincinnati make sure to stop by thier restaurant!

Sweets & Meats BBQ catered our wedding a few weeks ago, and I honestly can’t praise them enough. Food was one of the top three most important things for our day, and they absolutely delivered. From our very first interaction, it was clear they genuinely care about their couples. The owner, Kristen, personally held our food tasting, which was our first clue that we were in great hands.

Everything we tried was delicious, and on the wedding day, the food came out hot and flavorful. We heard from so many guests that it was some of the best BBQ and wedding food they’d ever had.

They were also incredibly professional and easy to work with throughout the planning process. If you want crowd-pleasing, comfort food that people will actually remember, you will not regret booking Sweets & Meats. We’re so glad we did!

My husband and I now regularly go to their restaurant in Avondale and will definitely be recommending them to those around us!

I hired Sweets & Meats to grill and cater our 4th of July party, which also celebrated my wife becoming a U.S. citizen. They did an excellent job helping us choose the right amount of food for 120 guests while staying within our budget. We ordered pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, mac n' cheese, collard greens, cauliflower wings, and baked beans—everything was absolutely delicious!

The pulled pork was smoked in advance, and they brought a 12-foot trailer with a grill/smoker to cook the burgers and hot dogs fresh on-site. Guests kept raving about how amazing the food was. The freshly grilled items were a perfect fit for our US Independence Day/Citizenship celebration.

If you're planning a party, wedding, corporate event, or outdoor cookout, I highly recommend getting a quote from Sweets & Meats. Great food and great service!

We first met with their catering organizer a few months before the wedding and that was a great experience. They put a nice selection for us to try together and even prioritized baking fresh cookies when we came, as they knew that was something we were enthusiastic about. Their catering menu is very well organized and easy to understand/priced out nicely. They have a very good idea based on # of guests on how much food to order.

I loved how customizable the catering was - we ended up doing sliders so people could choose different meats and their catering organizer gave us an excellent idea of doing cornbread appetizers with a little jalepeno to match our his/hers drinks.

There was a little bit of changeover of staff during the period between booking/wedding. I did feel that they went above and beyond though to make sure everything for us was organized and taken care of. The owner is very involved and detailed. She went through everything with me to make sure it all went just as planned.

I also really appreciated that they had a chalkboard sign with the menu on it for guests for outside the truck (see photos) (and was not an up charge). That was a nice touch.

The wedding day:

They were prompt arriving/setting up. The food service was a little slow getting started, but it picked up speed. Our wedding had around 120 guests and we had the BBQ truck and a TexMex food truck option. I think the speed could be improved on a little or maybe would suggest a more streamlined type of service/(menu?) for any events of more than 60 guests. For us, because we had always planned two caterers, everything worked great (and I really wanted the actual truck there because I thought that would be cool - a buffet would've been faster, I realize).

The charcuterie/antipasto board was awesome for appetizers. Everything was really nicely prepared and cooked! The Mac and cheese was a big hit too. I think their pulled chicken is really really excellent. I also thought the green beans were very good. The baked beans were mediocre, in my opinion, so we did not order those for our wedding.

We did have some leftovers and that was great. We took the Mac and cheese home and froze it and it defrosted very well. We had a little meat that worked well when we did the same too.

At times, I felt like the owners could be a little friendlier (one managed the truck/one i spoke with on the phone), but at the end of the day I know this was a busy time for them and ultimately I was happy we chose them for our wedding.

The day after brunch:

Again they were prompt, staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating for this part of the event. It was a mother and son duo that work at sweets & Meats and they were fantastic! The food was a big hit!

I do think they could've offered a little better pricing for simple black/decaf coffee. They dropped off the buffet (French toast casserole with a very very good berry topping, eggs, bacon, potatoes) and then we just bought catering sized coffees from Dunkin Donuts for $80 since the alternative they had offered was 4-5x that.

Overall, I would really recommend this company for your event. The food is outstanding and they will deliver an excellent, customized product! Thanks for sharing our big day with us.

I had kind of just accepted that I didn’t like brisket until I tried theirs. Phenomenal is an understatement. Even the fat, which I refuse to eat off a steak, was good. I’ve also always thought every Mac and cheese was the same, until I tried theirs. I cannot recommend sweets and meats enough.

I reached out to Sweets & Meats to cater our end of the year celebration lunch for my school district and it was DELICIOUS. Sweets & Meats not only delivered wonderful food, they also delivered wonderful customer service and were great to work with. I will definitely recommend to my friends and family!

We had the pleasure of having Sweets & Meats cater our son's college grad party over Memorial Day weekend. We hosted & served 70+ people with sliced brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, green beans & amazing cornbread, we also had monster choc. chip cookies for a grab & go dessert.
it was all labeled and prepared ready to heat & serve. I picked up the food at The Mt. Washington commissary. The team loaded my car & everything was packaged with all the utensils & chafing trays/ sterno. It was easy & smooth. We can't thank Kristen, Anton, Nicole and the whole Sweets & Meats Team for the help! A+++ Highly recommend.

Ate from their food truck. Sadly they were almost sold out but I got lucky enough to try the mac and cheese. Out. Of. This. World. BEST mac ever. Creamy, cheesey, great garlic and herb flavor.

Canceled our order through Door Dash 15 minutes before it was supposed to be delivered. Family and friends waiting to eat to eat and NO food! We placed this order three days prior and reasoning was “unavailable “. Plan better! Won’t be ordering again. Love to support small and local but only if they communicate and deliver. All you had to do was celebrate the day before, not 15 minutes before delivery time.

We ordered Sweets and Meats Catering for our company lunch and had an amazing experience from beginning to end! Billie was super helpful when I was ordering and throughout the process beforehand, the crew that came to set up was quick, friendly, and helpful, and the food was amazing! We got the boxed lunches with pulled pork, pulled chicken, pulled jackfruit, mashed potatoes, baked beans, mac & cheese, and green beans and we got a lot of praise from the other employees. The Boxes were packaged amazingly, and we got through our line faster than we ever have! Great experience, I highly recommend!

Food was good but administrative team lacks integrity. Had I placed a review for this business in the past I would have given 5 stars, but an incident occurred that they were at fault for. A contract was signed and there was an error in billing. No contact was made about the error and the business decided to modify the signed contract without notifying me. After making the modification, they opted to take their payment from the card on file. When I attempted to pay them with a different form of payment on the pickup day, I was told my account was complete. After further review, I discovered the credit card charge that was higher than the contractual amount. I reached out to the business using one of the phone numbers they had used to contact me in the past and no response was given. I filed a dispute via AMEX for the difference of the balance and the business reached out a month later with an abundance of questions. I addressed the questions but didn't include attachments. The owner was adamant that no errors had been made on their part. I responded with the initial signed contract, refuted that no calls had been made but an email thanking me for my payment and no response to my inquiry. Had the company just called me to discuss the error, not taken an unauthorized payment form my corporate card and owned their mistake all would be well. Now things are not. On top of this they mentioned another event, that I was affiliated with and how payment was not received. Yet failed to mention that grace was given for the payment and when the other group attempted payment the drop off was cancelled due to the owner being sick. A little integrity goes a long way!

We have the Sweets and Meats BBQ truck come to our office as a thank you to our staff multiple times, and the food is terrific! The staff is always friendly, and the Strawberry Crunch cake was divine! I would recommend the collard greens, brisket and mac and cheese.
