We don't normally go abroad to eat German food. But after 2 weeks of road trip the name “The Lübecker” was too tempting. So we stopped here on Saturday evening after the Bengals game. Big praise for the currywurst, which could also compete well in Germany. The Lübeck cheese spaetzle, on the other hand, wasn't really our thing, but the city of Lübeck isn't known for its spaetzle in Germany either. Of course the whole thing is a snack, but the presentation...
We ate at the Lubecker as part of an OTR food tour and this was our favorite stop! Olaf specially prepared a sampler of popular dishes and each one tasted great. It's clear that Olaf is passionate about making authentic German food and it was reflected in the quality of the food!
We stopped in briefly for a brat with sauerkraut and a soft pretzel with mustard and cheese spread. These two items were as divinely perfect and German as they could ever be, especially for such an unassuming place.
