I am a recent neighbor to the Overlook lodge and the Cincinnati area. In the last 6 months we have been there about 3-4 time with our regular neighbors. Each time has been great, with the exception of tonight, New Years Eve. Around the holidays Overlook employs seasonal employees who have no obligation or accountability to the bar. On NYE overlook employees starting urging everyone to leave before their close time of 1am, not great, but fine and something anyone can deal with. What patrons cannot deal with is the treatment that came while the temporary employees were trying to shut said bar. The bar closed at 1AM on New Years Day (after a full NYE celebration). By 1:10AM the temporary staff had pushed us out of the establishment despite the pleas that we were with regulars and had spent several hundred dollars that night. By 1:15AM we were formally kicked out and asked to leave while our Uber was minutes away. Afterwards, we had police presence threatened because we stood in their stoop and a *former* employee decided to flip us off because she was upset we had not left yet (Ubers are tough on NYE!!! Shocking). Regardless, we will not be attending the Overlook Lodge any longer despite being neighborhood regulars who are passionate about local businesses and social spent hundreds of dollars tonight. Absolutely abysmal service, truly disappointed

One of the COOLEST bars in the city. I heard about this place before I moved here, and I feel so lucky to be in the same city of it now. Very cool concept, and very welcoming staff. You can tell A LOT of hard work was put into this bar. Very cool details, especially if you are a horror movie fan!

We are BIG fans of the Overlook! I just love being able to say that I have a “Shining” bar in my neighborhood!
We had such a great time! The cocktails are excellent and the beer selection is perfect. We love the unique seating and have sat at the bar and in comfy chairs by the front windows. Bartenders are always friendly!

This is such a fun and immersive place to hang out. Our bartender treated us like old friends and made some solid suggestions from the cocktail menu. Our spritzer flight was unique and amazing and the vibe really made us feel part of a 1970s ski lodge. Thanks Overlook!

Such a cute bar! I love the Shining theme during the majority of the year and the fact that they play 80s horror movies on the TV's, plus the drinks are all themed. The Christmas pop-up is also super cute, and even has "snow" that falls from the ceiling! But buy your tickets super early, they sell out every year!

Great atmosphere and overall vibe. Bartender was patient and helpful. However no prices on the drinks menu was somewhat aggravating. I was surprised to spend $30+ on two mixed drinks. If I had seen prices in advance I would have likely just ordered a beer.
