I wasn't going to post a review but felt inclined to do so. I've been to this establishment quite a few times. I love the Cubano and the burger deal can't be beat! My last experience left much to be desired however. My husband and I came in last Saturday after hearing about their reuben special. We entered and the place was busy but not packed. We were greeted by Liz who has served as before and is such a sweetheart. Unfortunately, Liz was the only positive aspect of the experience. The man on the grill was complaining about people ordering and was talking over Liz as she was explain to us that there was a longer wait time than normal for items off the grill. When Liz was giving us a timeframe for two reubens, the guy on the grill interrupted her and quoted a time double to what she was saying (she said 30 minutes and he said an hour). You could tell she was annoyed but tried to still help us by offering items with a shorter wait time like the chicken nuggies or the crispy chicken sandwich. What was interesting was that with all the AUDIBLE complaining from this man on the grill I couldn't see anything actually being cooked on the grill at the moment (unsure if there was a maintenance issue or something). We opted for Liz's recommendations of the crispy chicken sandwich and nuggies and as an apology for the cook, she comped two diet cokes. While we were disappointed to not get our reubens, the chicken sandwich was good. We sat at the counter and unfortunately heard a poor interaction where Liz was obviously trying to calm the water and offered to take over the grill for a bit to which the cook declined. She then offered to slice more beef for the reubens so he could get some tickets out. Before he said anything she dashed to the back to which I heard him call her a "f***ing idiot" as soon as she left. One person arrives to the diner and goes to the register to order and the cook asks the guy at the prep station to get Liz (I don't know why neither of them could handle that one person's order? Still nothing on the grill yet). Liz comes back with a lot of beef sliced and gets right back to her station to which I hear the cook say "I can't f***ing do this. I'm giving pogo my two weeks". As someone who also works in the service industry, I totally understand when it's a rush and stress is high, but don't be a jerk to your coworker who's trying to help and DON'T COMPLAIN WHERE CUSTOMERS CAN HEAR. I will be coming back but hopefully just on a day where this cook isn't working. Five stars to Liz and the guy working the prep station! He was super sweet and was great with a kid sitting at the counter!

My favorite local restaurant! The burger special is my favorite weekend bite to eat. The fry seasoning is insanely good on their crispy shoestring fries. And when I took my mom, she raved about the cucumber sandwich. Staff is always friendly when my boyfriend and I go. I’ve dined in and had delivered and I’ve been satisfied with both, but definitely prefer sitting in the restaurant as I love the atmosphere.

i’ve been here 2 other times and got the burger deal for dinner with my partner. it was pretty good and a decent price. went there this afternoon because blue jay was busy and i was disappointed. i feel bad not leaving a great review because this place has lots of good options, classic diner atmosphere, and the food isn't bad. but $60 for an okay sandwich and a side for 2 people just isn't the experience i’d hoped for from a little northside diner.

The burgers are very tasteful, the fries are seasoned, and the service is wonderful. A little tiny cozy burger bar with an open kitchen dinner. It's a little pricey, but the food portion makes up for it.

The chicken sandwich and fries may be the best I've had. The fries were crisp, hot and coated perfectly with a rub. The chicken was moist, crispy, spices on a nice bun. Fresh pickles and sauce with honey.
I work at Bud Herbert Motors down the road from the diner, fantastic food and service. Highly recommend this diner. Will be going back often.

Maaan, I was so so excited to try this spot. I grew up in Northside and was glad there was a cool new spot going in where Park Chili was. I'm so sad to say I was not impressed one bit. It was Friday around 6 when I ordered, it was a big order so I didn't mind the wait, only 30 minutes, which is fine. I had to remind them to include my cobbler, then I got home and had no poutine. Had to go back and get it which came out fast. My sandwich was good (vegan burger) but then we went for the cobbler. THERE WAS NOT ONE BIT OF FRUIT! It was all topping. Seriously I was so so sad. It was bourbon cherry and all I got was the sweet dough topping. I don't give bad reviews usually but I had to tonight. Sorry, I wanted to love this place but I won't be back. Great first time to this New dinner in Northside. Service was quick and the food was amazing! I had the cheesesteak sandwich with was awesome but the seasoning on the fries was out of this world! My buddy got their grippos chicken sandwich special. Yes it's breaded in grippos then deep fried. Looked as good as he said it was. The inside is just like an old dinner but cool colors and lots of fun games to play along the wall. Will be coming back here often!!
