Came for the food, stayed for the duckpin bowling.

A great place to grab some food and have some fun, especially when the value is there as well.

Great food and beer!

Good food. Awkward setup. Pick up a menu, then walk up to the bar to order. Take a number, then they bring the food to you. Just seems weird to order my food from the bartender.

LOUD. Could barely order because it was so loud I mean eventually we did and the beer was not good tasting. The atmosphere was the most horrible horrible Place if we weren’t with friends we would’ve left. They need to put sound boards up and soundproofing because the interior is horrific. I agree with other people it is like a Chuck E. Cheese that serves beer because Lots of kids. Keep it a brewery not a Chuck E. Cheese. Pick one or the other. There’s lots of breweries, save your money and go somewhere else.

My beloved wife is a dark and boozy beer drinker, who frequently finds summers where IPAs are everywhere difficult. She was in hog heaven at Wandering Monsters. Very good bba dark beers and barley wines!

It's a kid friendly tap room. Beers and cocktails tails were good. Pretzel was ok. We went to a more intimate place for dinner.

We thought Wandering monsters would be a good place to take the kids so they could enjoy the duck pin bowling while the adults had a drink. The kids had never bowled before so we helped along the way. There were a couple turns that the ball was slightly tossed instead of rolled. We immediately told the kids it needed to be rolled instead of thrown. However, one of the employees (Head of Hospitality according to their website) took it upon himself to make a very rude comment to the 8 year old child about throwing the ball. Then proceeded to stop and stare at her everytime it was her turn and tell other employees to watch her. It made us all very uncomfortable. Our kids are very well behaved and were just trying to have fun but also learning the game in the process. If you are going to advertise that you are a family friendly establishment and offer something like duck pin bowling then you have to be prepared to have young children who don’t know how to play. We never left the children unattended and even had an adult sitting in their lane helping them but this guy didn’t let us handle it or even address the adults so we could talk to the child. The way this man acted was not very hospitable if you ask me.

The place looks inconspicuous, but much more can be found inside. Once inside, you can’t miss the bar. They have a large open area and you will see the Duckpin alley in the corner. They have limited space, so be ready to jump when one opens.

I grabbed a chair and got a ‘Here We Once Were’. It was a smooth West Coast Pilsner. It was so good, I got a second one. I then tried a Bossie (Wisconsin Ale). Very clean, smooth and refreshing taste. It has no bitter (like an IPA) or heavy taste. They have a ‘Captain Kidd’ which is a Peach Brown Brandy. It was a dark draft with a brandy / peachy after taste. I liked it, but not my cup of beer.

I had a Smash Burger and Steamed Veggies. The burger was smashed and good comfort food. The veggies were actually seasoned which was nice as usually you get them plain.

I did a game of duckpin and got a 98. Seriously bad as I did better in my younger days. Be aware the alley is short and the duckpins are on strings. Kind of weird, but it works as long as the strings don’t get intertwined.

I also grabbed some souvenirs for home. I forgot my hat, so getting a new one will help in the sun.

Take a wander by the place for a set of Duckpins and Brews. The staff are friendly and helpful with your beer selections.

The sour beer I had was good. Atmosphere was solid too.

Came for burger week though. Burger was pretty weak. We got the braised and confused. Burger lacked flavor and looked like a McDonald’s McDouble.

Wandering Monsters is literally in our backyard and my husband and I come here more than we should admit and are never disappointed. From watching FC Cincinnati games to grabbing a drink with friends and family or just having a date night, Wandering Monsters is our go to spot. The staff are always so friendly and provide an awesome atmosphere. The drinks are unique and tasty, and the food comes out quickly and is delicious. Duck pin bowling is so much fun and always makes for a good time. I hope Wandering Monsters stays around for years to come!
