Sophie La Gourmande Reviews
The pastries here are so good and so fresh!! Their staff are friendly as well. The cafe itself is very bright and cheery with art made by local artists for sale on the walls. Plenty of seating, with people there for social gatherings as well as working on their laptops. I just wish they were open longer hours/more days!

Local fav. The sides and main dishes are scrumptious and the atmosphere is airy and light. Recommend you eat every bite real slow. Also love the diversity in age and all -true Lee Road chic!

Sophie La Gourmande is a charming European-style cafe with a variety of delicious treats like mousse, quiches, croissants, pain au chocolat, and chai tea lattes. The owner, Bob, shares the story of his bakery, named after his dog, and the local artwork adds to the cozy atmosphere. The soups, salads, and sandwiches are made with quality ingredients and are always fresh and unique. A must-visit for excellent pastries and a warm, welcoming experience.
The cafe has expanded to offer more savoury and nutritious options alongside their famous pastries. Guests enjoy the lemon meringue pie, vanilla bean sablé cookies, and mini tarts, with many praising Bob’s catering for events. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and comfortable, with free off-street parking. Some note the coffee can be bitter, but the overall experience remains delightful. Special menus and rotating local artwork keep the space fresh and inviting.
