My wife and I wanted something a little different for our wedding cake - Tiramisu. We went to multiple bakeries and were told it wouldn't be possible to make a tiered cake out of tiramisu. When we approached Sophie La Gourmande, they were excited about our idea and made our vision come to life! Our cake turned out even better than we pictured, and of course tasted amazing. Would absolutely recommend them for your next event!

I first heard about Sophie La Gourmande earlier this year, when I was in between jobs. I vowed to treat myself to "something" from the place once I found work, and recently, I did just that. Only...absolutely everything looked amazing, and I wound up treating myself to several somethings, even though the prices were a bit high (but fair for the quality of each item). Although everything I had was fabulous, the sablé cookie sandwich was the standout for me, along with the strawberry panna cotta. The space inside is lovely and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The man taking my order congratulated me on my new job (I'd told him about my promise to myself), which I thought was really above and beyond in the "good service" department. I wish I could be a more frequent customer of Sophie La Gourmande but I live a bit too far away and the new job doesn't pay me enough to make this a regular stop.

I’ve been following this bakery on Instagram for several years, and finally had the opportunity to go. We went a bit crazy ordering about 6 different pastries, and each one was excellent. The staff even gave us a few dog biscuits for our puppy’s first birthday party, which were obviously a hit. Definitely recommend making the trip, even if it’s a bit outside your planned route!

Sophie La Gourmande in Cleveland is a delightful gem that deserves a spotlight for its charming atmosphere and delectable offerings. This French bakery and café exudes a warm, inviting ambiance, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch or a cozy afternoon treat.
The moment you step in, you are greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods. The pastry selection is nothing short of impressive, featuring an array of croissants, éclairs, and tarts that are beautifully crafted. The almond croissant is a must-try, with its flaky layers and rich almond filling, and the classic chocolate éclair is a decadent indulgence that chocolate lovers will adore.
Beyond pastries, the café offers an excellent selection of breakfast and lunch options. The quiche of the day is always a treat, featuring seasonal ingredients that ensure freshness and flavor. Pair your meal with a cup of their expertly brewed coffee, and you have a winning combination.
We ordered desserts from Sophie La Gourmande for Thanksgiving, and we loved them so much that we couldn’t resist coming back for more for Christmas! Their seasonal offerings, including stunning holiday cakes and pastries, added a special touch to our celebrations. Each dessert was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor, making them the highlight of our festive meals.
The staff at Sophie La Gourmande are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend their favorite items or share the story behind a particular pastry. This personal touch enhances the overall experience, making you feel like part of the community.
Overall, Sophie La Gourmande is a must-visit for anyone in Cleveland looking for authentic French pastries and a cozy café experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, ordering desserts for a holiday celebration, or settling in for a leisurely meal, you’re sure to leave with a smile and perhaps a few pastries to take home!

From the moment you enter the space, as a diner, you know you’re going to experience something different. It’s a beautiful place to eat, and the food was unusual and its menu options, presentation, and taste. We liked The chickpea confit that had whole chickpeas, served a top, hot hummus. The sweet potato and red beet sandwich was satisfying. Numerous vegan ready options were available. Other options could be veganized quite easily.
I enjoy every experience at Sophie. The girls and I got to enjoy so many tasty treats - mousse, quiches, croissants, and more. The owner came out to greet us at tell us the story of his business. Wonderful experience! Tasty baked goods!
