Second time here after a couple of years and am so glad to see it have expanded to more options for savoury/ nutritious foods as well as their delicious pastries. It’s giving “Luna” but with a more modern and minimalist style! Happy to have brought my mum since the pastries are always great.

The only qualm I had was how the manager or owner responded to my mum requesting more milk in her cappuccino, as if we don’t have any knowledge in coffee. The foam was not foamy or thick with a ton of bubbles inside the foam. As if they didn’t tap it before pouring it in. He explained the drink to her and had a perplexed judgment look on his face. I almost wanted to intervene and ask if he wanted to try the drink himself. I don’t have an issue with people informing us how the drink is supposed to be made, but the assumption that the customer is not informed rather than, “hey maybe the barista had a faulty drink this one time” or adjusting to my mum’s preference, came off strange. The coffee was bitter, which is why she asked for more milk. I wish they had been kinder in responding to an older foreign lady or ask what was wrong while explaining their reasonings

What a wonderful experience! Went there for a 90th birthday celebration of a dear friend. We had the honor of having Bob take care of us all (thanks to someone calling off). But, I think he would have done so anyway, great man. Wonderful chef. Bob has catered a number of my family's events, I would absolutely have him do another (at the restaurant or elsewhere). I had the pleasure of experiencing the quiche, lemon meringue pie (name doesn't do it justice) and took home some vanilla bean sablé cookies. You should definitely give this place a try. Thank you Bob (and staff).

This place also features different artisit (monthly or weekly, I forget what Bob said). They also have special menus. Oh, if I only lived in town; I'd be there weekly!

The atmosphere: clean, smells great, nice and bright. First restaurant I ever went to that had simple syrup for you to add to your drinks. Clean bathroom.
Off-street free parking. The chairs were even comfortable.

We just used their catering services for a wedding luncheon of 45 guests at our home and they hit a home run! The sandwiches, the salads and the mini tarts were delicious. The presentation was spot on. We got so many compliments for our food spread! With so many moving parts to coordinate a wedding, Bob and his staff will give you peace of mind to focus on everything else. THANK YOU!

My wife and I wanted something a little different for our wedding cake - Tiramisu. We went to multiple bakeries and were told it wouldn't be possible to make a tiered cake out of tiramisu. When we approached Sophie La Gourmande, they were excited about our idea and made our vision come to life! Our cake turned out even better than we pictured, and of course tasted amazing. Would absolutely recommend them for your next event!

I first heard about Sophie La Gourmande earlier this year, when I was in between jobs. I vowed to treat myself to "something" from the place once I found work, and recently, I did just that. Only...absolutely everything looked amazing, and I wound up treating myself to several somethings, even though the prices were a bit high (but fair for the quality of each item). Although everything I had was fabulous, the sablé cookie sandwich was the standout for me, along with the strawberry panna cotta. The space inside is lovely and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The man taking my order congratulated me on my new job (I'd told him about my promise to myself), which I thought was really above and beyond in the "good service" department. I wish I could be a more frequent customer of Sophie La Gourmande but I live a bit too far away and the new job doesn't pay me enough to make this a regular stop.

I’ve been following this bakery on Instagram for several years, and finally had the opportunity to go. We went a bit crazy ordering about 6 different pastries, and each one was excellent. The staff even gave us a few dog biscuits for our puppy’s first birthday party, which were obviously a hit. Definitely recommend making the trip, even if it’s a bit outside your planned route!

Sophie La Gourmande in Cleveland is a delightful gem that deserves a spotlight for its charming atmosphere and delectable offerings. This French bakery and café exudes a warm, inviting ambiance, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch or a cozy afternoon treat.

The moment you step in, you are greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods. The pastry selection is nothing short of impressive, featuring an array of croissants, éclairs, and tarts that are beautifully crafted. The almond croissant is a must-try, with its flaky layers and rich almond filling, and the classic chocolate éclair is a decadent indulgence that chocolate lovers will adore.

Beyond pastries, the café offers an excellent selection of breakfast and lunch options. The quiche of the day is always a treat, featuring seasonal ingredients that ensure freshness and flavor. Pair your meal with a cup of their expertly brewed coffee, and you have a winning combination.

We ordered desserts from Sophie La Gourmande for Thanksgiving, and we loved them so much that we couldn’t resist coming back for more for Christmas! Their seasonal offerings, including stunning holiday cakes and pastries, added a special touch to our celebrations. Each dessert was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor, making them the highlight of our festive meals.

The staff at Sophie La Gourmande are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend their favorite items or share the story behind a particular pastry. This personal touch enhances the overall experience, making you feel like part of the community.

Overall, Sophie La Gourmande is a must-visit for anyone in Cleveland looking for authentic French pastries and a cozy cafĂ© experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, ordering desserts for a holiday celebration, or settling in for a leisurely meal, you’re sure to leave with a smile and perhaps a few pastries to take home!
