This was recommended to us. We were staying at a hotel in the area and ordered delivery from the deli. We ordered corned beef sandwiches -- what else? The sandwiches were absolutely delicious and really are as large as pictured -- at least 6 inches thick. I will say don't bother to order cheese on top. You only get one slice and the sandwich is so big that you can't taste the cheese. We also ordered the pierogies which were delicious. The tavern pretzel was very good. Disappointing was the cookie. I ordered one cookie for $2 -- it was not any bigger than an oreo, so don't bother. The deli was outstanding and we ordered from there twice.

Best Cornbeef in Cleveland. Quick and easy service with a friendly feel all around. Easy to get to, only parking was a little restrictive.

Knockout sandwiches plenty big enough to share (especially with a side of fries). I added Thousand Island dressing to my corned beef on rye - Wow, what a flavor boost. Most of all, we LOVED how friendly everyone was - staff and cashier to us and to other customers (you could easily spot regulars but we all got sincere interest and attention) and they seem like family to one another, too. This is our Day 1 in Cleveland, but I’ll go back and get a Slyman t-shirt!

Great atmosphere and our waiter was very friendly. Matzo ball soup was the only so-so food. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

Buddy of mine and I came in for lunch today. The size of the sandwich is incredible. Not only large, but delicious. The fries are out of this world along with the pickle. The coleslaw delicious but the corn beef on rye was like going to New York, and paying a third of what it cost in New York. You can either order in takeout or order and eat there. We ate there really sweet cashier always had a smile on her face and very helpful.

Jump in line outside and when you get to the counter you can eat in or take your order to go. My turkey melt was great (add tomato) and my husband had the classic as a melt. The staff were lovely and the portions are huge.

You want Corned Beef - then you want Slymans. Huge sandwiches for about $17-20. Could make 3-4 sandwiches out of 1 of theirs. Pretty fast ordering. Generally have to wait in line outside. They close before 3 so get there early.

This place advertises the best Corned Beef sandwich in Cleveland. We turned ours into Rubens and they were fantastic for $2 more. We also ordered the onion rings which were batter fried and were prepared perfectly: crispy outside and tender inside. The sandwich's are piled high and both of us took a half sandwich home for the next day.

This is not a kosher place , please correct it The food seems very good and handmade slice meats and real cheese

Anticipated since I went to the one downtown and it was closed...got a pastrami "Swiss miss"...it was ok. The pastrami was a bit dry? Perhaps, if I go again, I'll try the corned beef. The frys were average...

You can only read how unbelievable the food is so many times…but I’m going to say it one more time , the Slyman is unbelievably the best corn beef I have ever had the pleasure of eating . We took a Uber to get there, money will spent. Go, don’t hesitate, walk, run, Uber , hitch ~ get there! Everyone there was pleasant and friendly~ 5 stars all around ! Thank you !

Wow. Lived up to every expectation. It was recommended by someone I know that is originally from Cleveland. It is a hole in the wall place with a line out the door, just North of Chinatown. It looked like nothing special outside. Just a brick non-descript building with no parking to speak of. Most park mainly on the street. The corned beef was just great. I had the corned beef sandwich, fries and coleslaw. Way too much food, but I was in heaven.

Loved my waitress but since she has only been there a million years, she is still learning. Always exceptional.

What a gem. Even though they were 15 minutes from closing, the staff was gracious and efficient. I've been wanting to try this place for years but I live on the East coast so wasn't able to sooner. The pastrami is to die for. Especially the pastrami cheeseburger. I died and went to heaven. You can also tell a good diner by it's slaw which was solid. Didn't love the potato pancakes but oh well. An anonymous staff member bought my niece with Down's a slice of cheesecake and we devoured it once we got home.

We drove 3+ hurs all the way up from Dayton, Ohio and were not disappointed. Smaller inside than it looks from the outside, but this is a well-oiled machine. You order at the counter and the most efficient waitress I've ever seen delivers the food to your table (if you are dining in) and checks back several times to make sure everything is okay. Everything was more than okay. Oustanding corned beef on rye. Get the potatoe salad, too.
