The bar tender was very informative of the different beverages served here. Also informing us of where they came from. Service was above and beyond in my opinion.

A nice brewery with helpful staff, located on the heart of West 25th amongst the businesses we know and love. After visiting here on a less busy day at a less busy time, my friend and I had the place to ourselves. We stopped in for a quick beer. The bartender was super helpful and offered us multiple samples to help us find the right beers. They also have a food menu from the shared kitchen of neighboring Pizza Whirl. The gals from Pizza Whirl will literally run hour food over. Pizza Whirl food is A-OK if you're having a beer, but don't come to Bad Tom looking for beer. The atmosphere inside is dark and cozy. There's a good mix of seating styles and if you're here during an off time (think not happy hour or dinner) you'll enjoy a quiet atmosphere. My friend likes beers of all types and ordered a flight. I'm not a huge drinker, but I'm glad I checked it out!

Greta atmosphere and really awesome service and bartender. The beers we had were really good, we didn't try the bourbons but want to go back to see what they are like. My only complaint is the place smelled like septic tank covered by floral scents it was gross and weird. I don't know if someone took a dump on a stool or if something was leaching out of a drain, but it was bad.

This place is awesome! Bartenders were so friendly and welcoming and the beer was so good. The pumpkin ale was one of the best I've ever had!

Decent spot with ok food but beer is subpar. The atmosphere makes up for it, its really missing something here all around though.

Large selection of their own beers as well as bourbon and other drinks. Great pizza & wings from nearby Pizza Whirl. Cozy spot with a sleek, retro vibe.

This was another cool brewery find and passport destination. Nestled on W.25th Street next to Ohio City Burrito, it's a tiny little place with a somewhat hidden entrance. The theme of the place is a sort of outlaw/1800s Saloon type place. I know my boyfriend was digging it as he's into that type of thing and bought two stickers. They had a lot of cool merch and all their flight/pint glasses had their signature logo. For the size of the place, I was impressed at the amount of beer they had on tap. I think it was something like 18 beers and they had lots of spirits too. All the beer we had in the flight was good, and just reminded me of a solid craft brewery. I liked that it was lowkey and the crowd was nice and relaxed. The food here is more snacky items, as we got a pretzel to share and it was just a heat and ear super pretzel, so this is definitely more of a beer focused place. I liked it, the bartender was friendly, the beer was good. The bartender was constantly cleaning the bar surface, chairs, and menus. I can see myself stopping in again if in the area.

It was quiet because of the pandemic. The beer was good and the food was tempting to buy, but I didn't. They make their pretzels in house I think.

Have yet to get a beer here I didn't like, and I've had 10 different brews. Friendly service, too

BOTTOM LINE :: has potential, flops on the runway

This bar should be a destination for any Cicerone in training! The off-flavors in their beer (regardless of style) are so abundant, that they might serve some of the worst craft beer I've ever had. I wouldn't be surprised if they have never cleaned the lines, and the diacetyl was the only flavor in the IPA. I also tasted three other beers including the stout, but couldn't bring myself to try anymore. If you have any tastebuds in your mouth then avoid this place. Even their mixed drinks are atrocious. My brother-in-law ordered an Old Fashioned, took one sip, and left it. We were there on a Saturday night; lots of nightlife going around this place, but this Bad Tom Smith Brewing was just depressing. People would come in happy for drinks, have one, and then leave deflated. There was only one bartender, who was very nice and trying very hard, but obviously overwhelmed and inexperienced. Stay away unless you are training your pallet how to taste off-flavors in beer; then it's a goldmine.

My family and I visited this wonderful, quaint establishment during the 2019 holidays. We had Groupons for the place, including flights, pints and pretzels. The beer was pretty good but most seemed to have a root citrus flavor. The pretzels were fantastic and I would suggest getting the extra large, it's huge and great for two people. Also, the one poor bartender who had to deal with our 9+ party out of the blue did a great job getting all our flights and what not. Definitely recommend.

Quick stop when in the area. The name definitely drew us in. This brewery is small and intimate and there are choices for everyone between the crafts and liquor. I highly recommend the Redemption.
