Four of us and a 10 month old went for an early dinner. The staff and particularly our server were so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a second room which was very comfortable for us with the baby and several other young families arrived soon after and the tiny diners enjoyed meeting each other.

A regular favorite from Van Aken to here, I have loved poutine since visiting Canada in the 8th grade and can't get enough.
I've tried sandwiches, burgers, all the salads, and many poutine specials, all of them creative and homey.
Servers are kind and personable, even remembering me when I come back and visit. Air quality is good and remains under <1000 and atmosphere is warm and cozy. Be back soon!

I've been dining at Banter since about 2018, and I was devastated when they closed the Lakewood location some years ago. I'm ecstatic that it's been reopened in the area and given new life! The food has NEVER disappointed, and they're always experimenting with new flavors and seasonal items. The Chicken Bacon Ranch Poutine has been my go-to, but everything else I've tried on the menu before has also been incredible. The new restaurant itself is also wonderful; it's fresh and updated, super clean, and the staff are all friendly. I will always recommend this spot to anyone looking for some high quality, scratch-cooked, comfort food!

WOW!!!! You NEED to check this place out! This restaurant is not only super cute, but the cocktails and food were excellent!!! I ordered a yuzu cider, and my husband ordered a tonic based called the Local Hero. Both excellent choices! For lunch we ordered an original poutine and chicken Paprikash to split! Both came to our table rather quickly, and both were excellent!!!! The 2 bartenders also doubled as hostess and our server. Super nice and friendly!!!! In addition to drinks and food, Banter also has a tasting room and fridges where they sell beer and wine! Can't wait to go back for the brisket poutine!!

The food: The Mexican Street Corn Dog was fun and tasty. The poutine was ok. Just poutine. It needs some pepper or something. It was wing week and i had some Boneless buffalo wings Not bad.
I will try the polish dog next time.

Poutine - First time ever having poutine so I do not have a baseline to compare on tastes and authenticity, but I thought the “Banter poutine” was pretty good. I felt it was a bit overly salty with the fries and gravy, but maybe with a different variation that won’t be a worry.
Polish boy - It was good too, only points of concern for me were the thickness of the bun/bread and the stack of the slaw so there’s no easy eating to it without setting some off or to the side (who wants to do that).
If the opportunity were to arise, would come again to try other variations of food.

Warm, welcoming and fast service. Delicious cocktails and food. I had the old fashioned and it was exactly what an old fashioned should taste like. The cheese curds were super yummy and crispy with a nice light batter.

The poutine is really good, but I was blown away by their old fashioned. We always share a half size poutine and get a corn dog. The half size is actually super decently sized. I’ve never been disappointed by a poutine, but I think the chicken paprikash is best!

The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable! I haven't been disappointed by any poutine I've had from Banter. Last time we also ordered the brussels sprouts and they were hands down some of the best brussels sprouts I've ever had! Great location with plenty of street parking. Very large inside with lots of seating with a great atmosphere and vibe!
This place is just fantastic. To me, it’s like an elevated fast casual with delicious food and friendly service. The poutines are all so good. We love when pigs fly, short rib, and chicken bacon ranch. The beets and burrata is a must get item. It’s so simple, yet so delicious. We will return again and again
