Was one of 8 people at the bar, took over 10 minutes to have anyone acknowledge me and no one took my food order so left after 20 minute.
Edit: as I was standing up to leave someone can over and took my order. Food was above average and extremely reasonably priced. Would probably be at least 4 stars if the service didn't let it down.

Got La Tierra and Codfather. Both arrived cold, so my review is skewed. La Tierra was fantastic, codfather was too fishy for me. Hostess was a miserable ogre. Server was nice tho.

Great spot. Make your own tacos / bowls. Fantastic queso. Sneaky heat. I love it. Salsa also great with some heat. Loved my bowl. Got the jefe. Chicken was amazing. Great chorizo also. Steak tacos were delicious Thank u soo much.

My husband and I came to this barrio for dinner after the tree lighting. We expected busy and we were okay with that, however we waited an hour and 15 minutes for freezing cold food. The waitress said “it just came out as soon as i brought it to you” then walked away and grabbed a manager, who came over to us and didn’t even give us his name and said “sorry, we are doing our best” and asked if we were “chalking it” and offered no resolution and chose to walk away. We will not be coming back to this barrio location after the poor customer service skills, especially from a so called manager.

Food took a really long time . Food was cold and told waitress who instead of saying sorry just gave us attitude . Got what I think was a manager to come over , manager didn’t offer a name and apology just asked if we were “chalking it” and then just walked away as I was speaking to him . Didn’t tell us anything was taken care of or really talk to us after . So we left food and left . Wouldn’t dine here drive to the Lakewood one. Train your managers to actually be nice to your customers . Negative stars if I could

The food itself was very good. We ordered custom tacos and both of us were pleased with the outcome.
We ordered during happy hour and were charged full price for the food but not the drink. I’ll concede maybe the food was placed right at the cutoff time (I don’t remember, our tab said the order was at 5:47). However, I was charged extra for the cilantro rice even though the paper form didn’t indicate this. There was also a service fee, which I didn’t mind but don’t remember seeing anything about it.
Anyways, I’d still recommend this place, but would appreciate updated price transparency.

We walked into this restaurant and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The hostess was very unwelcoming and took us to an empty room right next to the kitchen door, even though the restaurant was almost empty and there were plenty of open tables in the main dining area.
When we asked the waiter if we could sit in the main room, he said yes but clearly wasn’t happy about it. My wife even approached the hostess again to request a regular table (not at the bar), and the hostess was rude and looked at us in a disrespectful way. At that point, we decided to leave.
Customer service should always be a priority, and the first person who welcomes guests sets the tone. A hostess should be trained to greet customers kindly and make them feel comfortable, not push them to the worst seats in the restaurant. Very disappointed.

Fantastic tacos and great vibes! Barrio Tacos Gateway delivers fresh ingredients, creative flavor combinations, and consistently delicious build-your-own tacos. The margaritas are excellent, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. A go-to spot for great food every time.
This one makes me sad to write. I used to live in Cleveland a few years back and my husband and I loved this restaurant. The drinks were always good and the food was amazing. I just went to a concert with my friend and suggested we go to Barrio to eat before. I was really excited since I haven't been there in years and I always remembered it being great. The wait was expected because of the concert but all the employees seemed miserable. My friend and I went to the bar while we waited for a table. I ordered the Hot Mez which was a margarita that was supposed to come with pineapple and jalapeño. When I got it, it tasted like straight tequila and water. I was genuinely surprised because I've never had a bad drink here before. I was going to let it go and just not drink it but my friend said something to one of the bartenders. He pretty much ignored us at that point. It would have been ok if they couldn't remake it or fix it in some way but to completely ignore someone instead of straight up say there's nothing that can be done to fix the drink is pretty rude. I would have been fine with them adding pineapple juice or something to make it better especially because it didn't taste anything like the description. We sat down at our table and my friend brought up the issue to our server, she said we had to talk to the bartender about the issue (which we already tried to do). I do think she asked the bartender to come over at some point but he never did. Anyway, I never write reviews based off one issue so unfortunately there were some issues with the food as well. My tacos were ok but my friend ordered guacamole which costs $2 extra and it was brown and tasted sour. If we are going to use old avocados at least make it free not $2. I am not sure about other locations but this Barrio really went downhill. Hopefully they get their stride back because it really used to be a place to rave about.

Disappointed that we made it in time for happy hour only to get charged full price for everything and get told after we got the bill that they don’t do happy hour for games days. Weird… we were not even going to the game. Service was slow the best server was the person in training. Wish we just went somewhere else. Oh well…

Loved everything!! Two of my friends and I were in town for a concert, and we had dinner here beforehand. Our server greeted us immediately, was very friendly and helpful, and our drinks and food arrived quickly. The margarita flights were fantastic, and everything we ate was delicious! Will definitely be back next time I am in Cleveland!
