Heartbroken that this gem of a restaurant has closed. Everything was delicious and made with great personal care. It was like going to visit your Uncle or going to a small neighborhood establishment where everyone knows your name. Many even walked there from the surrounding residential streets.... What a loss.

Amazing. Gen jacks chicken is good. Rice and beans. Crawfish if he has it. Good wings and po boys. Dinner service is slow so don't have plans.

When I arrive here for the first time here he was very rude and said can I help you ! Then I said yes I will like so seafood gumbo …I closed the door and he ask me to go back and check to see if the door was closed and I ensured him that it was so he proceeded yo walk to the door and gonna say I don’t like to assume so I told him he didn’t have because I made sure that the door was closed…and I also stated that I don’t work here I’m just a customer ..so he told me as a matter of fact I don’t want to serve you and told me to leave while I’m pregnant! He have no customer service skills and very rude so I wouldn’t recommend coming here .

I don't know how this place has 4 stars. Unfortunately the good people of Cleveland have been bamboozled into thinking that this is what authentic New Orleans food tastes like. Mr. Baptiste is obviously very far removed from his culture. He's lost not only the accent but most importantly the flavor of Nola. Being that I'm a 9th ward New Orleans native, I KNOW flavor... and this ain't it. Not one person down south would add habaneros to the gumbo. HABANEROS IN THE GUMBO??!!!! The sausage in the gumbo tasted like the little fake ham pieces that people use when they want to be cheap about a dish. The red beans were the hardest beans I've ever tasted in my life. The Jamaicans cook down the camellia bean in the rice and peas more than Mr. Baptiste does. I would rather eat a can a blue runners than to eat the red beans from here again. There was no sausage in the red beans which is blasphemy. On top of the food that cannot be disguised as "authentic" Mr. Baptiste was one of the weirdest old guys I've ever met. Low key rude and his conversation makes you uncomfortable. One more thing and this is for EVERYBODY; stop calling your restaurant "creole" or "Cajun" and you turn around and serve polish boys and Thai wings..... the jokes write themselves. Bye

Went into this restaurant following the recommendation of a friend, since he knew that I am from the SE and crave Cajun/southern cooking. Not only is the food fantastic—I highly recommend the Thai style wings— but the owners are friendly, likable, and have so many interesting things to share about food, culture, and interesting CLE facts! My GF and I stayed for an extra hour after finishing our meal the other day just to chat with the owner, Junior. This spot is definitely a hidden gem, and we will 100% be back.

I was expecting better based on the reviews. I didn't have a long wait as some reviews have stated. I ordered on a weekday, maybe that had some bearing. The wings are good. A bit over cooked but no worse than I've done myself. I was really disappointed in the red beans and rice. The only flavor was heat. If you have a sinus problem this is your dish. You'll be breathing clearly in no time. I had to add a few seasonings to get any flavor. Even then, I don't think that I will eat anymore of it. So all in all the wings were good, red beans and rice not so much.

As a culinary professional I respect the fact that they want to be authentic but it took 2 hours to cook dinner for 2 adults and two teens. There was only one other table and I just couldn’t fathom what took so long! And trying to cash out was a headache. I’m sorry just not worth it….

Food is made with style and care. Sometimes it's hard to find authentic elegance, but this place has it to great effect. Great place to relax, unwind and feel human. Somehow it's classic Heights and classic New Orleans at the same time.

I was excited to support local small business. I enjoyed everything but the fish. I tasted two pieces and they tasted great. I opened two more pieces of fish and it smelled rancid and when I let the staff know, they responded by screaming at me and telling me that I shouldn’t eat the food then say it’s something wrong. The customer service was horrible although the food was great after 2 hours waiting for it. I didn’t appreciate the staff trying to argue over food served to me that was seemingly spoiled.

The wings are AMAZING. All the other Cajun food is hit or miss and way overpriced. The Cajun wings however are beat in City. The owner is a very very odd fellow who some think is nice. I, however, find him kinda rude and sometimes overbearing. For instance, the restaurant will be empty but he will not let you choose a table, he will direct you to the table at which you must sit. If not for the oddity of the owner and him sometimes rudeness, I would go more often- only for those damn wings. The food is not authentic NO cooking. It is a Cleveland restaurant trying to cook like NO. Not the same, but if u you aren't a foodie, it will be ok. Because I know real NO food, all I get are the wings.
