I can’t say enough good things about this place. My brother and I were looking to kill some time on a slow Sunday afternoon. When we walked in, the owner, Guy Dickey, was the only other person in there. He was playing Dwight Yoakum on the jukebox and watching the Browns game. He told us how this bowling alley has been in his family for 80 years. He offered us every hospitality, including showing us how to keep score manually. Bottles of beer were only $3.25, which took me back to another time. They were also the coldest Budweisers I’ve ever had. As we played, he checked in on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. You just don’t get customer service like that at big commercial bowling alleys. I was struck by the beauty of the original hardwood lanes, which are so rare now, and the old-timey ball return. When we were done bowling, he gave us his business card and encouraged us to come again. This place is truly a hidden gem!

Some friends and I used to love bowling here for a quieter atmosphere at a family owned place but multiple times we were made feel unwelcome :( they seem to make up prices based on their own bias against the person paying. Disappointed that this turned out to be such a sleazy spot. They just want people to get drunk and overpay.

My friends and I (4 Pl) visited, were told $4.50 a person, per game, $3 shoe rental. I payed for 2 people, 2 games. Guy stated I never paid and the flat rate for everyone is $50. Double-charging us.

While I previously thought this was a kind family owned business what cared about the customers and keeping the fun of bowling available for anyone, that was wonderfully shattered last night. My friends and I were met with verbally aggressive tone from Guy Dickey stating that I had not payed for my game and drinks after doing so 30 minutes before. Making my friend who I didn’t cover pay $50 for what was a $26 bill (estimated because the actual rate amount was told to us differently throughout the evening).

We were told quite aggressively to pay the $50 and “you can find somewhere else to bowl but it’s gonna cost a lot more”. I can proudly state I wouldn’t mind bowling somewhere else now because I wouldn’t be met with anger and fraudulent billing.

This would be a great place to bowl if the staff weren’t awful. My friends and I wanted to start bowling weekly. First time at this place, they gave my friend the wrong change and after only a few drinks she couldn’t even stand up or speak. We stupidly went back assuming it was a fluke. Next time, the four of us had a great time- friends paid for their drinks and games at the bar, the owner seemed very friendly, etc. When we go to leave and pay for the remaining games, the owner became very irate saying we didn’t pay for anything yet (including drinks, even though we paid for them after ordering) and he would take an even $50. When we tried to ask for an explanation of the price, he refused to explain or provide a receipt and kept repeating that we wouldn’t find prices cheaper anywhere else. I’m really disappointed because this could be a great place to bowl and support a local business, but unfortunately it seems they will just load you with alcohol and try and swindle you out of your money.

My friends and I were excited to have a weekly bowling night and loved the price and convenience of Dickeys Lanes. We had a fun time bowling and liked that it was completely empty. However, prices kept changing depending on the mood of the owner. When we got there, we were told it would be $4.50 a game per person + $3 for shoes. Towards the end of our second game, my friends paid for their last drink and their games at the bar with the owner. Then when we finished up, me and my partner came up to pay for our two games. The owner said it would be $50 for everyone. He refused to acknowledge that half of us had already paid, and since it was in cash with no receipts it was our word against his. He quickly got very mad, and we got scared and just paid him the $50. Even if we hadn’t paid for half of the games $50 would’ve been way too much. I’m disappointed because I thought it was a lovely hole in the wall family owned business. But the owners aren’t kind and seemed sleazy in their business practices.

Old school bowling alley with nice wooden lanes and a fun retro vibe. Bar is very nice with a great selection of drinks. Staff is always accommodating. Not many left like this, guaranteed you'll enjoy the experience.
