A group of 5 for a business dinner. Two of us ordered the scallops. There were THREE scallops per an entre serving at close to $40 per plate. They were very good, but I have never seen such a ridiculously small serving. Two others in our party ordered the filet mignon medium rare. Both steaks were overcooked, at least medium well to well done. It was brought to the waitresses attention, and they did NOTHING to correct this. My beet salad, at $14, was small with wilted greens and pretty disappointing as well. They were NOT busy (hmmm....wonder why)....very disappointed with the experience given the caliber of restaurant this is supposed to be.

My husband and I were excited by District's menu and made a reservation before a show at Playhouse Square. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back. First off, the waiter told me they may be out of the appetizer I ordered - which is fine - but she never actually came back to tell me they were actually out of it, so we sat there waiting. I ordered the scallops (asked for no pancetta) and my husband got the duck confit paprikash. My dish had 3 small scallops (for $36) and the grits had the pancetta on top of them . The waiter, after checking on us about 15 minutes after dropping off the food, didn't ask anything about the grits I hadn't touched. The scallops were cooked well and delicious but for $12 each, it was ridiculous. My husband's spatzel was cold and the flavor was off. Overall, we were pretty unimpressed. It felt like we were just eating in a room that was sparsely decorated to look like a restaurant. There were nail holes in the wall and even random screws sticking out in places. Maybe it was an off night tonight, but it was an overpriced and disappointing experience.

The food is good but a bit overpriced considering the portion size. But I get it, it's located in prime real estate. Otherwise, we had Excellent service.

Some food was great (avo toast), slamon bennie....but avoid the apple and beat salad. Apple and beat salad: Literally 1/2 of a small apple, sliced with small pieces of canned beats on top. A bit of white sauce and about 20 pieces of raw spinach.....not worth it. Please either make this better or remove from the menu..

Enjoyed a great meal before the theatre. Had the cod and the duck paprikash: both delicious, duck could have been a little hotter. Ordered cocktails and the bartender graciously corrected one that came out too sweet the first time. Overall service was excellent. The 4 stars for atmosphere are b/c the interior was so dark at first we thought it was closed. N.B. the entrance to District is on 14th Street not Euclid.

Inattentive service, tables much too close together. Food was very tasty though plate presentations were underwhelming. Scallop dinner only included 3 small sized scallops very disappointing.

We tend to dine at the District prior to a 6:30p show at Playhouse. We have a found a 4:30p reservation works perfectly in order for us to enjoy our lovely meal without rushing across the street. Parking is right next door in a parking garage which suits us just fine. On the last visit I ordered the 2bone porkchop and it was prepared perfectly. I understand they brine it according to our delightful server.

Overall, very mediocre experience. Every item we ordered from drinks to entrees was served separately with 5-10 minute gaps. There wasn't one thing we ordered that we could consume together given how piecemeal everything came from the bar or kitchen. Service was friendly, but sparse. The food was hot and tasty, but not prepared to the menu descriptions which required requests for missing items or acceptance of the preparation and presentation as served. Unlikely that we return before a Playhouse performance.

Hands down the best place in Cleveland to get dinner before a show in Playhouse Square, and one of the most underrated dinner spots in Cleveland.

Great atmosphere, very chill and somewhat nice. I wore a Nolan Ryan jersey, and although I could give 5 poos, it seemed more of a nice dress dinner place.
