What's not to love? A stones throw from the West Side Market, friendly service from the gentleman behind the counter, and the Krémes (Napoleon) was absolutely divine. As good, if not better, than the kremsnita I've had in Slovenia. Not only would I absolutely return, but I would go out of my way to do so. I would also encourage anyone I know that visits Cleveland to stop here and get a kréme!

I’m a long time customer of Farkas. They are the go to spot for Hungarian and central/Eastern European pastries. Specifically, their Napoleon (kremšnita) is the best I’ve had. I think they’re as good or better than the many I’ve had in Slovenia. My wife and I had them in lieu of our wedding cake, and they were, unlike most wedding cakes which are usually a flop a think, extremely well received. People are still talking about them. Also, don’t sleep on their lemon bars or brownies. And if you want something a little more elevated for a special occasion, try their Hungarian Dobos Torte.
I've been coming here over 10 years and love it! The bakery is like family to me. Also happens to have been the best job I ever had. I still stop by for the pastries and service. Incredible quality!

Their Napoleans are absolutely incredible! I wish I could try some of their Hungarian Tortes but I was only there for a weekend trip. All of their desserts looked delicious and I'm sure they are!

I took a 5 mile hike through beautiful Rocky River Reservation and my hiking partner mentioned Farkas Pastry Shoppe. I had never been to this bakery and zoomed right over. The inside has a charming, Old World feel to it. I ordered: Raspberry Hazelnut Linzer, Twisted Puff Pastry filled with Gruyère Cheese, Vanilla Kréme (Napoleon). Each pastry was baked to perfection. As a former high-volume baker, I am keenly aware of fine ingredients, recipes, bake time and presentation. The baker knows what he's doing. So cool to see him in action. It took a long time to make my selection because I was mindfully doubling down for the next Farkas experience. The clerk who took my order was friendly, helpful, patient and kind and placed two Krémes at EYE LEVEL; one vanilla and one chocolate!! I am definitely looking very forward to returning for another box of pastry.

Always consistently a 5/5 experience and one of few places that makes my grandma's day everytime! Their pastries are out of this world delicious! It's hard to find hungarian desserts let alone with top notch quality and ingredients! The chocolate rum squares are mine and my family's favorites as well as the obvious dobos torte!
