We stopped by this cafe while out of town visiting a very sick family member at the Cleveland Clinic. Physically and emotionally exhausted, we googled the nearest cafe for a coffee pick-me-up. We ordered coffee and the gentleman (only person working) made a snarky comment that we were not ordering any food or pastries, since that’s what they were known for. Based on the previous reviews, I believe this to be the owner. Instead of being grateful for any business, he found it necessary to make a rude comment about what we were ordering. If we weren’t so tired we probably would have left and cancelled our order. When he was finished making the coffee he set them on the counter aggressively, causing coffee to spill out the top, down the side of the cup, and all over the counter top. He never looked back. If the cappuccino wasn’t so good, I would have given this 1 star. If you’re in the neighborhood and simply looking for good coffee, give this place a try but beware the staff is awful and makes you regret spending your money there.

BEWARE. This place is unsafe. 0 stars. Bought a coffee and was told you couldn’t sit down if you didn’t buy food. I am getting treatment at Cleveland Clinic for severe illness and could only have a black coffee before medical testing. The owner was unstable and yelled at me when I tried to sit down and said I had to buy food in order to sit down. No one was in the entire cafe - it was completely empty and now I know why. The owner was very sketchy and went to the back for a long time with my coffee and it was all separated/did not look to be an americano. I don’t know what he did to it because he in a rage about not buying food so I threw it out immediately.

Person taking order for my friend and I was unbelievably rude. Scolded us for not buying actual food when all we wanted was coffee. Told us we could not stay and only takeout. Ive never written a review in my life, but i knew i had to write one because of how bad the service was. Never coming here again

From peering through the glass wall, the baked goods looked delicious. On the morning we actually walked in, the sole person behind the counter was obviously harried. Turns out someone did not show up that morning which explained the really sparse offerings. We tried the only items available. Both the date-walnut scone and the mini-muffins were delicious. It is obvious that the baker knew his technique and ingredients. Scone was rich, moist with the date providing sweetness and had quality walnut flavor (not bitter, not powdery, not too chunky). Unexpectedly, the mini-muffins were topped with a beautiful crumb. As someone who bakes, I was impressed how the baker got the crumb just right, given the size of the muffins. One of the muffins (they were various flavors) had a whole raspberry right in the middle. Not soggy, not mushy. So despite being unexpectedly short-handed, the baker still produced quality goods.

My friend and I purchased coffees, but the staff told us we couldn't sit and drink them because we didn't purchase food. Of note, the cafe was empty at the time, so we weren't taking a table from someone else.
Owner was so rude.
Guy did not acknowledge me when I entered and I had to get his attention after a minute of standing there when it was completely empty. No water or napkins or anything available. Good breakfast sandwich, however, bathroom was dirty and obvious it had not been cleaned in a while. Paper towel dispenser did not work either. Would have given a higher score until I saw the bathroom.
