Place looked old and the floor was dirty. Ordered a meatball sub huge mistake. Soon as I heard the microwave door shut I knew it was going to be gross and I was right. The meatballs were the cheapest nastiest meatballs I ever had. Their “homemade” sauce was not good either. Barely any cheese on it. By the looks of the place and employees I’ll prolly never be back. Here’s a tip: take that nasty meatball sub off the menu.

I used to live in Cleveland hts and started going to Grums when they first opened. I now sometimes drive all the way from Westlake just for a Grum’s sub. In my opinion the Grums Turkey Ridge sub on French bread is the best sub ever, anywhere!!!

Unassuming sub joint. Great subs, great service.

Not the shop's fault, but my steak had a vein through every bite that was like rubber. maybe it was rubber. but, I am not taking the time to try it again for the cost.

Extremely tasty, lots of meat & toppings, bread was crispy on the outside & extra soft on the inside. Turkey was moist & the roast beef was perfect. I asked for extra mayonnaise & they didn't over do it. All the trimmings without being sloppy. Highly recommend to anyone who visits the Cleveland Ohio area.

Fast, friendly, and fresh. This is a great place! The only thing we did not like was the meatball sub. It had a very odd aftertaste.

Classic nostalgic and still delicious as the first time I ever had it a true staple of Cleveland since 1977

This is a tiny little shop that's been around for so long that is an institution in Coventry Village, on the same level as Tommy's. You can just feel how not-corporate they are, and I'm pretty sure that the owner works the counter, which I think is awesome. Their subs are all so good, and their bread is some of my favorite. A whole sub is a good investment if you want leftovers for the next day - it works out to around $6-7 a meal (for me at least). They have a drink fridge. There's no seating for dine-in, but they do have benches to wait - although I always prefer to drop into another store nearby and come back in a few minutes to pick it up.

Note that as of October 2024, the only credit/debit card they accept is Visa. It gives an option to tip on the card, so you don't need cash for that. I encourage tipping here, because the kitchen is open and you can really tell that they're working hard at it.

Vegetarian options: I forget which sub it is, but they have a mushroom sub that is absolutely delicious - one of the best veggie subs I've ever had. I'm not sure if have any vegan cheese, but let's be honest - why would anyone even want vegan cheese?
