Hooples is a dive bar, but it has the feeling of Cheers. The owner Norm is regularly around and Herb is usually there serving at the bar. If you're a regular (even if you go mia for a couple years to have a couple of babies) he remembers your beverage of choice. I used to go here once a week after practice (before said babies) and I was never pressured to have more than one drink. The patio is huge and the place has great views of the river, but this place is worth going...
This was my favorite stop in Cleveland.
We came from Wisconsin and walked into Hoopples after a baseball game at Progressive Field and it immediately felt like home. Just a classic corner bar with a great vibe. Everyone from the bartender to the local regulars were super welcoming and friendly. Loved the bowling machine and you get a great view of Cleveland and The Flats from your barstool
