Honestly the best steak I’ve ever had. They closed early and kinda feel like they rushed us out. Service was ok they didn’t mess anything up but could have been more cheerful. The bathrooms were really sketchy like you had to go down this weird staircase very uncomfortable. Cannot express how good the petit filet was though. Bartender was friendly

Johnny's has been a favorite of mine for decades. It never disappoints. The Potato Crusted Grouper and the shrimp and clams with fettuccini were outstanding. Extra treat was sitting in the bar area with the piano playing.
Iconic as Cleveland comes. Near Sherwin Williams HQ. Good, authentic Cleveland italian.

Place has unfortunately gone down hill in my opinion. The food was not fresh tasting. The table cloth was dirty and had dead bugs all over it, including on the bread plates. It was a 6:00pm on a night where the CAVS were playing a home game and was completely dead in here. Only 2 other tables were taken up. The front door was also locked when we walked in. They had to have 3 different employees and the valet try to get the door open. I guess the lock was acting up and locking on its own ha. It was a strange feeling. The place has always been a staple, but it was sad to see how mediocre it was this evening.
I enjoyed the piano player and that’s really about it. The linguine with clams was not only overpriced, but undercooked and the clams came from a can. There was just nothing special about it. I really did not like the sage that they used in the preparation either. At least the decor is more updated than their other location on Fulton.
Food is fabulous, little johnnys and johnnys. Frequent here often and am always pleased with the entirety of this establishment.
Excellent experience. Top notch service, food, drinks and atmosphere.

I am italian and just arrived here in Cleveland for work; the starter Jambo Shrimp Cocktail was good with a nice sauce and also the drink was good, I select a prosecco that I feel home for one moment. The problems came with the main course; the veal scaloppine and shrimp with linguine (fish and meat together!) was a mix of something that we totally didnt understand plus parmesan on top (not wirtten on menu, dangerous for allergic people!). My wife took the Italian feast; linguine with mix of fish scampi, shrimp and mussels; the base is good but please dont break the pasta(linguine) is a profane in Italy break the pasta! and the sauce with sagebrush is not good for me in the fish (personal opinion) we usually put in the meat. The service was very good as the atmophere. We are far away from a real italian cousin and we understand there is a big influence of American cousin in theese plates, but sometimes with these good ingredients less you do better it is.
This was the worst experience ever. I asked for lemon twist and was told they didn't have any and it got worse from there.
Matthew was such a great server and made our dinner 10 times better. The food was just as good, best meal I've had in a while. I definitely recommend swinging by here if you get the chance.
I'll start by saying my wife and my dinner was good, however it did not live up to our expectations or the hype of this restaurant. The other couple we came with had an extremely disappointing experience. The gentleman had ordered the lamb chops and they basically came out looking like overcooked, Kentucky Fried chicken, very thin, very greasy, and not at all edible. He left them on his plate, barely touched, and no attempt was made to compensate. With regard to his wife, she happens to be gluten-free and ask for gluten-free alternatives. How a restaurant in this day and age cannot serve at least one gluten-free pasta dish is a mystery to me. This isn't some bizarre ailment. This isn't new, yet this restaurant does not even offer an option. When she ordered her entrée, the waiter made absolutely no attempt to work around her dietary needs. Maybe suggesting that they pan fry the walleye instead of bread it before bringing it out. Needless to say she didn't have any meal because of the lack of attention of the waiter or the willingness perhaps of the kitchen staff to accommodate somebody with a special dietary need. The overall experience, not great. I doubt we will ever visit this place again. Thank you.
Fantastic experience. The food and wine were great. Our waiter was excellent. I highly recommend Johnny's.
