Fantastic dining experience - great food - the service was awesome, and the music entertainment was first class! I highly recommend Johnny's Downtown for your dining pleasure!

Johnny's Downtown was recommended by a friend. Beautiful as we walked in the door. Had a pre-dinner drink in the bar where the bartender was visibly upset & was slamming things around (and eventually broke 2 glasses). Got seated at our dinner table by a very polite host, but then the failure started. Our waiter kept apologizing for things being late. We ordered another round of drinks, but he came back to the table 2 additional times to confirm what we wanted (duh, that's why we write things down). Appetizer came out cold 30 minutes later. Entrees took an additional 45 minutes beyond that (amd lukewarm). Other diners said that they saw the "head waiter" sitting in the bar having a drink and watching T.V. This same guy eventually came to our table to check on us and we asked "What's wrong tonight?" He responded by saying that 3 people called in sick and that the waiter assigned to our table was a bus boy who had to step-up, but is having to learn on-the-fly. All I could think was that, if you're that short-handed, the head waiter should probably suck it up and skip his break/T.V. time at the bar during a crisis. My hope is that they just had an off night. The problem is that it occured during the last night of our first visit to Cleveland. If we ever return to Cleveland, we would likely give 'em another shot.

Classic old time restaurant. There was a piano player and karaoke singing in the bar. Well worth a visit.

Our server was wildly unprepared between her dirty apron, scrambling to find a scrap of paper to take our order, and her phone ringing during our dining experience. Oh not to mention it took TWENTY-FIVE minutes to get ONE glass of wine. I was ready to walk out. The food was meh for all the hype it receives. Our check was not added up properly. BUT, we were provided a complementary birthday dessert which was delicious (however we had to inquire about any potential birthday offers, despite having stated that it was a birthday on the reservation). Needless to say, I would not return.

The best part about going to Johnny's is Mike the piano player and singer! Sit in the bar and be entertained.

A great find in downtown Cleveland! Live music Saturday nights really makes for a special evening.

Was not the usual experience that I'm used to at Johnny's. Food was very good, however, were out of several items that we had ordered (didn't realize that until tried to order them). Service was mediocre at best. Took a while to just get a drink order placed and received, and from there was a little better but again, not the usual attentive service that made Johnny's one of the highlights of downtown Cleveland in the past. Hostess was a bit rude and when we walked in, was arguing with a customer about their seating arrangement. I will go back to try again but unfortuantely has lost being my downtown go-to.

Ordered the special. 16 oz strip steak. $74.95. I have had a better steak at Longhorn. Lobster mashed potatoes were very good and best part of the meal.. We won't be back anytime soon. Service was friendly though. Atmosphere was nice too.

Honestly the best steak I’ve ever had. They closed early and kinda feel like they rushed us out. Service was ok they didn’t mess anything up but could have been more cheerful. The bathrooms were really sketchy like you had to go down this weird staircase very uncomfortable. Cannot express how good the petit filet was though. Bartender was friendly

Johnny's has been a favorite of mine for decades. It never disappoints. The Potato Crusted Grouper and the shrimp and clams with fettuccini were outstanding. Extra treat was sitting in the bar area with the piano playing.
