L'Albatros is an upscale French restaurant with good food! If you are looking for a high quality but lower priced (compared to other French restaurants of similar quality) food this is the place for you! The appetizers are the size of entrees so if you are not in the mood for a ton of food, probably don't get an appetizer. Their signature rotating cheese platter have many types of cheese, olives, meat, breads, and more. The servers were very respectful and always came by to check in. The atmosphere reminded me of a French cafe. They also slowly dim and adjust the lights as the night goes on to match outside to create a more immersive experience.

We went here for dinner, and everything was excellent. I started with the French onion soup, followed by the coq au vin for my entrée, and finished with the brownie and ice cream for dessert all were 10/10. I would have preferred a little less bread and a bit more cheese in the French onion soup, but it was still delicious. The service was great, and I’ll definitely be back.

We had an amazing dining experience at L'albatros. The entire staff working the patio on 8/2/2025 made this one of our top dining experiences ever. From our server, to other servers helping out when they noticed a fork was missing, to bartenders checking on drinks that ran low, to bread service and water being refilled. You can tell that the staff cared about making it a special evening, they took pride in their work, their smiles were genuine, and they worked as a team. This is hands down the best restaurant in the Cleveland area. Excellent food. Excellent service. Unpretentious atmosphere. Thanks for the great evening!

We love this place. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by the friendliest people. The service is incredible, the food is like something you would be served at the best restaurants in France.

I highly encourage you to take advantage of the brilliant sommelier’s recommendations for wine.

Don’t miss the opportunity to try some rare and exotic fromages (cheeses), as the cheese-monger is sure to delight with his extensive knowledge and unique selection.

This is by far one of the best restaurants not only in Cleveland, but in this part of the country.

Great food ... I'm sad we waited so long to come here. The French Toast appetizer is the thing I'll be dreaming about for a bit.

This place is worth trying.
Excellent quality of food and authentic cuisine.
In my opinion it is not expensive compared to the quality ,portion and the relaxed ambiance.
Professional stuff.
I tried more than 6 or 7 times , and I never felt regret to go there.

4 meals, all great! I had the yellow tail with mango sauce and bokchoy! Everything was cooked to perfection and delivered to the table piping hot! Service for drink refills and the like was awesome, staff was well coordinated and friendly and had no issue with gluten/ dairy free request.

When we first arrived, the service was impeccable. Staff were extremely attentive—refilling our water glasses every few minutes and checking in often to ensure we were well taken care of. We started with the cheese platter and charcuterie board, both of which were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

However, things took a disappointing turn once our entrées arrived. Despite having a clear and detailed conversation with both our server and another staff member about a severe dislike for onions—and explicitly requesting that no onions be included—both dishes came out covered in them. It was disheartening, especially after how carefully we had communicated this request.

The manager did come over on her own, which we appreciated, and told us she would remove the entrées from the bill, even though we didn’t ask her to. Unfortunately, after that point, the service we initially experienced disappeared completely. Our server never returned to the table, no one refilled our water, and we were essentially ignored for the remainder of our visit.

This was particularly upsetting given that the staff knew we were there celebrating a birthday. We sat at the table for nearly 25 minutes without any acknowledgment. When the server finally returned, he brought an $11 bill (which felt like an odd final gesture) and made a dismissive comment: “Well, it just didn’t go the way we planned.” No dessert, no birthday acknowledgment, no apology—just a stark contrast from the hospitality we received at the beginning of our meal.

We weren’t angry about the food mistake—it happens. What truly disappointed us was being left feeling like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. First impressions matter, but consistency matters more.

My husband still left $110, so at least the servers night wasn't ruined.
