Honestly nothing was really exceptional at this establishment. It was overpriced and under whelming. Our waiter couldn't really be bothered at all. Didn't ask about allergies, didn't refill water once. The food was edible but for the cost, it should have been better. Poor value. Do yourself a favor and go to cloak and dagger instead.
Amazing evening as always. This is our go to restaurant. If you can't get a reservations, just sit at the gorgeous bar. The food is amazing! Love the staff too.
We had a fantastic experience at Literary Tavern! We sat outside on the patio, which had a great ambiance. It was perfect for a relaxing evening. We started with the Alligator Lounge & Princess Anjo cocktails which were both were creative and delicious. For appetizers, we shared the fried calamari and Caprese skewers, and they were absolutely spot on. Then we split the Nashville half chicken, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also tried the milk punch shots...definitely a new experience, and a fun one! Highly recommend for great food, drinks, and a cozy atmosphere.
Too noisy inside, otherwise a good place. The food was ok, I especially liked the calamari
We’ve been wanting to try Literary tavern for a few years at the recommendation of a friend who lives in Tremont. A very small place, but very inviting and nicely decorated. We sat outside on the patio. I ordered the house burger with fries for $24. Pricey, but pretty good. Wife’s chicken shawarma was also pretty good. I felt it was a little overpriced, but I will be back again.

One of our favorite places continued to keep us wanting to come back Started with splitting the bittersweet and salty salad. So good. The cheese did lose a little flavor as it cooled, but the mix of the cheese with figs with the greens was a wonderful combination. Settled in with the Lit burger with an egg on top and that was absolutely delicious. Ordered a side of truffle fries which was enough to feed a party of four, so we had plenty to take home. The only downside was that the cocktail list was lacking any bourbon cocktails aside from the stand by blood fountain which I was in the mood for something new. Tried the Focus on Me, which was a smoky delight of scotch with a slight hint of fruit. My better half had the Princess Anjo and enjoyed the blend of the rum and reposado giving just the right amount of smokiness with just the proper amount of sweetness to hit the palette just right. Only downside to this visit was that the bar area seemed very loud this time. But they won't keep us away. Highly recommend Literary Tavern for the wonderful, tasty cocktails, and high quality consistently well prepared food.
I've never had a bad bite or sip here. Current favorites: Joonbug and Chicken Shawarma Handheld. I usually sit at the bar because I love seeing the cocktails being crafted. But I will say, I loved the patio experience too.
Cozy (read small so best to make reservations), a CLE classic, mod yet earnest and comfy. Good value for dollar, warm ambiance.
Thank you chef and Katy for taking care of the to go order. It’s Abe

Really fun spot. Cocktails were the clear winner - alligator lounge in particular. Food (steak frites, Nashville chicken) was very good. Shout out to the community vibes and support. Would easily recommend to others.

Literary Tavern has exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. Recommend you try them out.
Delicious food. Excellent service. Patio unfortunately had lots of bees and bugs. Out of their control. I would definitely go back inside.
Everything on the cocktail list is a must. Adventurous but approachable flavors all around. As far as food we just had the veal meatballs and they were fantastic. Well seasoned. Perfect texture. Will be back!!
