Perfect food every time. Favorite spot in town, unique drinks are a plus and a cool vibe inside when you are looking for it.

We heard the drinks are amazing, but we ordered wine - it was good. We were celebrating a birthday and ended up seated by the kitchen - didn’t feel very special. We enjoyed the food - cauliflower appetizer - very indulgent! We also enjoyed the mussels, a shawarma wrap and a salad. Everything was good. The decor was fun and the vibe lively. I had a really hard time hearing during dinner - though the back room wasn’t full it was very loud. We didn’t linger….Vegetarian options: Salads, ravioli and a veggie burger were in the menu

This is the best restaurant in Tremont. It's a great small menu with good drinks. A nice local atmosphere which I am loathe to share with the rest of the world. But love it here and can't wait to go back!

Food is amazing and great value. Best Chicken Shayna ever , veal meatballs were amazing . Bartenders are real pros. My only complaint and many would call this a good thing but 1 tv at bar playing old time movies . Would love to have wat he'd the golf match last night or football games when in season but that's me. Amazing place

We wanted to try different Restaurants in Tremont and chose Literary Tavern this time to Celebrate my Deceased Moms Birthday. It's a very cozy, warm place and we loved the Ambiance. Food was Delicious and Staff very Friendly. We will be back!!!

While the drinks were creative and tasty, the 2 women bartenders were consistently unnecessarily rude for just no apparent reason. I come for fun, not your attitude.

This spot was recommended and I’m glad it was. I had the polenta and stuffed chicken and was impressed. I had leftovers and it was even great the next day. The cocktails are unique and fun, and the vibe of the place is also great. The waiter was always around when we needed him. Highly recommend.

Service was excellent and food & drinks were served quickly. However, I am apparently an outlier, but our party of 4 found the food quality mixed. First, they have a very limited dinner menu with half the options being burgers or sandwiches and, oddly, two veal entrees on the day we dined. We only found a few memorable options, all appetizers. We all loved the sautéed mushroom appetizer (under the salads) with a generous portion of unique varieties and seasoned perfectly. Caesar salad was a portion sized for sharing with crisp, fresh Romain lettuce topped with a nice light Caesar dressing. The corn cake appetizer was unique, crispy and flavorful.Unfortunately, other than that, our remaining selections were no better than a B minus with 2 that would get a D: the olive and feta cheese dip with warm mini pita bread sounded great, but it failed to mention that the dip is served cold; an odd option on a winter night and how could you dip into a hard dip with mini pita bread? I'd suggest the kitchen should rethink this & serve it warm, but our waitress said it's served right out of the fridge. The stuffed chicken with polenta was a big miss. I assumed the polenta would be served on the side, but it was served underneath the chicken which was slathered in a marinara sauce. Note to chef: marinara sauce does not go with polenta; Polish grandmothers the world over would fall faint at such a suggestion! And it was too bad because the polenta was light, creamy and delicious, but I could only get a couple of spoonfuls where the delicate polenta was not smothered in a tangy marinara sauce. The chicken was also overstuffed with a light flavorless cheese when a more hardy cheese, such as mozzarella or smoked Gouda would've been a better pairing with chicken, so overall a very disappointing entree. In looking at prior reviews, they are very adventurous with their food combinations and frequently change the menu. I would recommend they should stick with a few well-loved menu items and experiment less. And start by removing the stuffed chicken.

I would give the drinks the bartender made five stars. They were very creative and delicious. Overall, the food was just OK. It was so dark in the restaurant that we had a hard time reading the menu. lol

food was great...however, definitely felt a vibe as if we weren’t supposed to be there from the staff. also, after finishing our food our server just dropped the tab on the table and left. didn’t say anything else or thanked us for coming in.
